Hey there, .

Our for this week finds Disney's Lucasfilm label with a new "Star Wars" film at #1, but it may be another box office flop considering its budget after 7 years with "The Rise of Skywalker."

Lionsgate/Universal's "Michael" may have $1 billion on the table for worldwide total grosses meanwhile, but no one wanted this week's new films, even to pick up Paramount's "Passenger" and audiences weren't in love with Neon's "I Love Boosters" either.

Hey there, .

Our for this week finds
Lionsgate/Universal's "Michael" is back on top and past $700 million worldwide. A sequel is now moving forward.

"Obsession" pulled in a very nice third opening for Focus, but "In the Grey" for Black Bear and "Is God Is" for Amazon MGM/Orion will fail for them both.

Hey there, .

In our first for May, Disney's 20th kicks off the Summer blockbuster season with #1 belonging to "The Devil Wears Prada 2."

Lionsgate/Universal's "Michael" is STILL kicking a VERY high beat with nearly half a billion in sales and a sequel now in development.

And Amazon MGM's "Project Hail Mary" is the first big winner for the studio since the merger first took shape in 2022.

On the other hand, however, Angel Studios, which just three years ago based in Provo, Utah, found extraordinary success with "Sound of Freedom," highly acclaimed films "Cabrini," other praised films like "King of Kings," "David" and many others for families of faith and value-driven stories and movies, now finds itself at the hands of major backlash from both critics and its audiences with its distributed "Animal Farm" as it bombs big time. The picture comes from director Andy Serkis, animation studio CineSite and includes the voices of Steve Buscemi, Woody Harrelson, Seth Rogen, Glenn Close and more of Hollywood's prominent top talents.

Unfortunately, those that have supported Angel's films in the past, have now come with a VERY rigid response at the company, saying it's turned on them for its guild of 2,000,000 choosing to release a film about George Orwell's controversial subject matter with anti-capitalism. Making matters worse, the ending was reportedly changed and an online social ad for supporting the film backfired.

All told, this is not a good look for either Angel or their fan base, especially for the next slate of films coming for them. What does their next release with "Young Washington" hold for them come this 4th of July...
