The Pepperridge Weather Station has been in continious operation in the Phoenix Metro Area since 1997. and Chandler Blvd. The station operated at this location from Jul 1997 to Jul 1998. The station moved to it present location in Aug, 1998. It has operated in North Phoenix, since Aug, 1998.

The ice 🧊 🧊 broke on the East Fork of Cave Creek at 2:10 pm. This is the earliest 100-degree day on record. We went on to a high of 103 degrees, which is the hottest March temperature. It was 105 degrees at Sky Harbor today, the earliest 105 degree day on record, and the day after topping 100 degrees at the airport yesterday. Well Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow which means six more weeks of winter 🥶 or a normal winter’s end. Meanwhile in Arizona Agua Fria Freddie saw his shadow too which means we’re headed for an early Spring in Arizona.

Looking back on 2025 as a whole, it ended up being the 2nd hottest year on record for Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. It finished second to 2024 by only 0.5°F. Additionally, Sky Harbor also set/tied 21 record high temperatures and 18 record warm lows in 2025.

Again Sky Harbor Airports average temperature for the year is significantly higher than here in North Phoenix. While officially it was the 2nd year on record here in North Phoenix a slightly different story as 2025 is only the 3rd Hottest tied with 2024

Rainfall for the year was 14.56 inches of rain the 2nd wettest on record primarily thanks to wet fall when three tropical systems effected the area with above normal rainfall falling from August 14th thru October 14th with a total of 9.46 inches of rain. In December we mild winter weather thanks to La Niña conditions for warmest December on record with an average temperature of 59.2 degrees and only had 0.15 inches of rain the first below normal month since July!! It’s been a wet 2 months after a very dry end to last year and start of this year we have picked up 9.46 inches in last 2 months beginning on Aug 14th in North Phoenix with 2.93 inches the last 5 days and 5.76 inches have fallen since September 25th!! There was a total of 4.43 inches in September and 2.10 inches in August all that August rainfall after the 14th.

The 2025 Monsoon season is officially over and here is a wrap up of the season which was a mixed bag where most places saw below normal rainfall but thanks to some late season transitional events a few places ended on a high note thanks to late season thunderstorms ⛈️ which pushed a few locations into slightly above normal precipitation. Heavy Thunderstorms 🌩️ on August 14, 2025 The Monsoon finally delivered heavy thunderstorms 🌩️ 🌧️ with strong winds with. 40 mph winds and 1.27 inches of rain in North Phoenix.

A very unusual wet ⛈️ start to June thanks to a low pressure and tropical moisture from ex tropical storm Alvin results in second wettest June day with 0.72 inches of rain from overnight thunderstorms ⛈️ and two day total of 1.02 inches of rain makes this the wettest June on record for this weather station.

Finally after nearly 6 weeks since Sky Harbor achieved this milestone the Ice has Finally Broken on the East Fork of the CaveCreek. We have hit 99 degrees 4 times with first on April 11th, but it took until today to eclipse the Century Mark at 1:51pm….. http://tinyurl.com/67zwnhq

The first 90 degree day of year occurred today around 2pm in North Phoenix. Last year it didn’t reach 90 degrees until April 11th. The last time we reach 90 degrees in March was on March 25th, 2022. The warm up should peak tomorrow in the middle 90s for a high before cooling down back with highs in 80s by Thursday low temperatures should remain in the low 60s. http://tinyurl.com/67zwnhq
