The meaning behind my piece titled “Piece”?

“Piece” is Nick A. Erickson’s rendition of unification. Described by the artist as an appetizing play of words, the work illustrates the joining together of the different, yet same. Cake is celebratory - a centerpiece that brings people together. Cake is also diverse, available in a broad array of existence. While each unique slice consists of its own name, taste, and appearance, they unite to display an individual display of alliance.
Breaking bread (or breaking dessert) has forever symbolized humanity’s quality of coexisting. Across all lifestyles, cake, sweets, and desserts are celebratory, diverse, and - lastly - a universal expression of love, beauty, and joy that links one world to the next. 🎂
