Did you know parasailing has been a sport for nearly 30 years? It is also great for the whole family. Parasails are available in sizes from 24 to 42 feet and can accommodate solo, double, or even triple flyers.

Do you know how you come down for a landing when parasailing? A landing is usually done in water, where the parasailer unhooks from the parasail. This process is called a “splashdown”.

Parasailing is considered a leisure or recreational activity because it doesn’t require training and is a ride, completely guided by a tow vehicle. Sport parasailing is different, because it involves maneuvering by the flier or quick-release flight and requires training.

When parasailing, remember to make the moment last, and schedule the longest ride possible. No matter how much anxiety you have about your upcoming parasailing experience, once you ascend, we promise you you'll want more.

Parasailing works when a parachute is attached to a boat, and, as the boat goes faster, the air fills the chute, lifting the parasailer. The first ascending-gliding parachute was created by Pierre-Marcel Lemoigne in 1961.

The youngest recorded parasailer is a three-year-old named Aditya Pratap Singh Chauhan, who parasailed for two minutes at Air Force Station Jammu, India, in 2002. The oldest parasailer on record was 88.

The best time to go parasailing is when the weather is sunny with a good gust of wind that is consistent all day, without cloudy skies or the possibility of an oncoming storm. Storms cause shifting winds, so it’s not advisable to parasail during one.

The entire experience of parasailing can be dry. However, if requested, we can provide a “dip” in which we simply lower the parachute toward the water, which allows you to have your feet or bottom touch the water.

What’s an Automatic Release Device? It’s a mechanical system that’s attached to a tow bar or to the gondola/ridged harness, and it automatically releases the tow bar or gondola/ridged harness from the parasail canopy when activated.

You can take your camera up parasailing with you, but it’s at your own risk. Be sure to consider the height and water risks of dropping anything valuable. For this reason, waterproof disposable cameras are highly recommended.
