Through the darkness, there is always a little light. ✨

Today, that light is Briggs! FINALLY ADOPTED 🎉

After the heartbreak of the last few stories we’ve shared, we’re so happy to have a story with a very different ending.

Briggs has waited a long time for this moment.

He’s had multiple meet-and-greets, hoping each time that maybe this would be the family he had been waiting for. Then came an in-home trial that was scheduled for him… and the potential adopters simply never showed up. No phone call. No message. Nothing. 💔

And still, Briggs kept his chin up and patiently waited.

But now we know why!

The wait was worth it! 🙌

Briggs didn’t need just any home. He needed the right home. And today, looking at that happy face, it’s pretty clear he found exactly that. 🥹

Sometimes rescue means waiting… and waiting… and trusting that the right person/people will eventually walk through the door.

For Briggs, his people finally did. 🥰

His people are smiling. Briggs is smiling. And he’s finally where he belongs — in his forever home, surrounded by the love he patiently waited for. 🏡🐶

We’re not crying… you’re crying! 😭🐾

Happy life, sweet Briggs. You were so worth the wait!! ♥️

I took a leap and believed. 💔

I knew taking him to an ER vet could financially ruin us. But when this broken boy wagged his tail at me—and then sat up in my car and tried to crawl toward me—I knew I had to try.

I wasn’t going to make it to my regular vet. He would have died without care ASAP.

So I asked for help, took a leap, and trusted that somehow we would figure it out.

And YOU DID. 😭

Because of you, he is at VEG tonight receiving emergency care.

His wound is necrotic. He is septic. And the vet believes he has been like this for DAYS.

Days.

I called the officer who contacted me and asked what he had been told. He said they told him the attack happened days ago and that today it “looked puffy.”

I can’t even process that.

DAYS this sweet boy suffered. Tied up. Horrifically injured. His body becoming septic. And somehow, when I walked up to him, he still wagged his tail for me.

I just broke for him.

The ER vet was very guarded with me. Right now, all they can do is try to stabilize him through the night. If he makes it, he will need to see a surgeon.

I told them, “Just get him to the morning.”

My vet has pulled off miracles before. And I’m sorry, but if anyone can fight through this, it’s a reservation dog.

These dogs are survivors.

Please just get him through tonight. 🙏

I promised him I would try. I promised him I would show him that life can be more than pain—that there are people who will love him and fight for him.

And I believe in him.
