I was re-reading old posts on this page today. Some were hopeful for last minute supporters to save Empower House. I was reading for nostalgia.... I had cleaned out a storage shed and found all these binders full of documents that I spent 3 years typing. Its been a melancholy experience but I learned so much and am very grateful for it all. Thank you everyone who loved the Empower House. All it stood for still exists in my heart.

The Empower House was a safe house for women with PTSD. Thank you all who supported this important work. Unfortunately we could not keep the house funded, so it officially closed December, 2017. Currently it is primarily the residence of Water Shepherd and a host site for Third Eye Integration where conscious events are sometimes held. Ah....it has already started: the annual bombardment of emails and posts about donations...."for the holidays." This uses a person's sense of conditioned obligation and conditioned holiday goodwill to get someone's money out of a pocket. You will NEVER get one of these requests from Empower House. We refrain from this manipulation and we also won't give you a tax receipt because we only take help from people who actually believe in what we are doing (ask me more about this!) It has been to our financial detriment though, because we haven't been supported much by our community. However, domestic violence and poor mental health is a community problem and therefore deserves a community response. It is hard to keep this up, but I am a stubborn idealist and just want to help people because my heart tells me to. Live in LOVE.
