We aim to grow your theology, one conversation at a time, without using cheap tricks like rage baiting and sensationalism. Nonetheless, it's important work with important topics. And I've been blessed with great guest and co-hosts, all who are friends.

I’ve been invited back to London, England -- but it's expensive. This year, I aim to serve in several different ministry contexts across the U.S. The most vital is internationally, as I have been invited to return to London, England for a third time. I will mainly be working with Jay Smith's people as well as a Calvary chapel in the area. We will do heavy outreach, evangelism, and teaching connected to Speakers’ Corner and local church ministry for a week straight very soon.

A local pastor is helping with some lodging expenses, but support is still needed for airfare, food, transportation, and the remaining travel costs. Right now, I’m seeking to raise about $3,950 for the London portion of the trip.

If that need is met, I’ll also begin raising support for several additional ministry opportunities later in the year.

These trips involve evangelism, apologetics, teaching, research, dialogue, training, and content creation aimed at equipping Christians and engaging difficult worldviews with biblical truth.

In 1974, the Watchtower encouraged Jehovah’s Witnesses to put their lives on hold.

Why? 1975 was Armageddon.

In 1976, they chastised members for doing so.

Insight on the debate about the Gospel of Thomas, which you may find helpful. First, I would encourage you to read all of Thomas first. You will note several things:

-it supplies no unique historical information
-about half of it is lifted from the Synoptics
-it has elements of proto-Gnosticism, a Neo-Platonist philosophy
-Jesus supposedly says something uncharacteristically anti-woman in Saying (Logia) 114

Remember: it was more likely late than early. NT scholars Perrin and Evans have done great work showing it must be after 175 AD. It shows signs of taking material from The Diatesseron, which was compiled around 170-175.

Lastly, the manuscript tradition we have for Thomas is extremely poor, especially when compared to the four gospels.

Either way: even IF Thomas was dated to 100 AD or so, what exactly would that prove? It does not defeat the resurrection or the historical Jesus.

2 Chronicles 35:3 alone disproves the legend that the Ark of the Covenant ended up in Ethiopia:

“He [King Josiah] also said to the Levites who provided understanding to all Israel and who were holy to Yahweh, “Put the holy ark in the house which Solomon the son of David king of Israel built; it will be a burden on your shoulders no longer. Now serve Yahweh your God and His people Israel.”

This was 622 BC. The Ark was still in Jerusalem. The claim is that the Ark left to Ethiopia 400 years prior, during the days of King Solomon. This lore is found in the Kebra Nagast (Ge'ez: ክብረ ነገሥት).

The Book of Enoch is not just one book.

What most people mean is 1 Enoch (also called Ethiopic Enoch), an ancient Jewish text made up of multiple sections written over time.

there are three major writings connected to Enoch:

• 1 Enoch – the famous one with the Watchers, giants, visions, and judgment

• 2 Enoch – sometimes called Slavonic Enoch, preserved mainly in later Slavic manuscripts

• 3 Enoch – a later Jewish mystical text connected to Merkabah tradition

Even 1 Enoch itself is a collection of different literary units, not a single unified work written at one time (see comments).

So when someone says “the Book of Enoch says…”, it’s important to ask:

Which Enoch?
Which section?
And from what time period?
