This month’s Team Spotlight recognizes Erin Richey, a Peer Parent Support Partner whose journey reflects resilience, growth, and the power of lived experience. As a mom of four boys, Erin has faced difficult seasons that included addiction and involvement with DCS, experiences that ultimately became part of the foundation for the support she now gives to others.
Today, Erin uses those experiences to connect with families in a real and meaningful way. She understands what it feels like to struggle, rebuild, and work toward something better, and that perspective shapes the support she provides every day. Her ability to meet parents with understanding, honesty, and compassion helps families feel less alone during some of their hardest moments.
We’re grateful for the care, strength, and authenticity Erin brings to Family Involvement Center, and we’re proud to recognize the impact she continues to make for families in our community.

This month, we’re proud to spotlight Dawn and the powerful journey that led her to supporting families.
Dawn’s story began with serious challenges, including addiction and involvement with the justice system. With the support of a probation officer who refused to give up on her, she found a new path, one that led to meaningful work within child-serving systems.
As a young mother of four adopted children with unique needs, she faced overwhelming obstacles. Today, she is also a grandmother raising her grandchild, continuing her deep commitment to family. A turning point came when a mentor encouraged her to seek support. Through a NAMI Basics class, she realized she was not alone, and neither were other families walking a similar path.
Now a Peer Parent Support Specialist at Family Involvement Center, Dawn uses her lived experience to uplift others. She helps families build skills, strengthen communication, and navigate complex systems with confidence.
For Dawn, this work is more than a job. It is a commitment to walk alongside caregivers as they find their voice and create a path forward.

April is Autism Awareness Month, and awareness looks different for everyone. For some families, it means navigating things day by day. For others, it’s learning how to better support someone they love. Sometimes, it’s simply making sure every voice is heard and respected. We’re grateful to be part of a community that continues to show up, learn, and support one another in real ways.

March is Women’s History Month, a time to recognize and honor the impact women have had in shaping families, communities, and systems of support.
At Family Involvement Center, we see every day how women show up as advocates, caregivers, leaders, and voices for change. So much of that work happens behind the scenes, but its impact is felt in real and lasting ways.
We’re grateful for the strength, resilience, and dedication of the women we serve, work alongside, and learn from.
