Making good progress on the Mike Tyson & Cus project!
It's starting to look like a photo. I put lots of work on the background, shirt, arm, and face! So need to put in the beads of sweat on his forearm, and the logo on the shirt before I get into those hands. Those are going to take a bit to capture.

Here's the progress from the last couple live videos I've posted. I've been working his shoulders, arms and that shirt! I fixed the bicep, it was too big, and moved the shading down to the wrist. The base layers are done and will start the little details and beads of sweat on the next session. I'm really excited about getting into those hands! The stare had to be captured with all of the emotion and life behind them. The hands will be just as important since they tell the story without saying a word. Thank you so much for following! It really means a lot! 🍻❤️🙏

Today's progress!
- More details on the forehead by getting the values just right and all the beads of sweat and highlights in the right spot.
- Worked on the hairline and getting that where it should be.
- Added texture to the chin and got the right shape. Worked on getting the values just right, and lips dialed in.
- Lots of work on the chest, as you can see. The drop of sweat, skin texture to make the light look like it's reflecting off the sweat. And bringing all of the values to where they need to be. I've never done anything like this before so it's been a little slow. Trusting the process is always key!
- Started working on his tank top and by using a paint brush to lightly shade the area and then I'll use an eraser to create the lines. Last I'll go back and put in the shaken to make it look like he's actually wearing it.

Progress!
Little by little this is turning out better than imagined. I've never drawn skin texture like this before so it's been a "learn as I go" kinda thing. If you zoom in you can see the details on his chest. Next, it's finishing the face and chest and then start on his tank top. It's been so hard to keep that area clean! Can't wait for him to see this and really hope it raises all the money needed to help Coach Ricky at Madison Boxing Gym get the kids and gym new gear this year!

Last night, I put in some time to refine the Mike Tyson & Cus piece. The difference might not be strikingly obvious, considerable progress has been made.
Take a look!
Key areas of improvement include enhanced detail and shading around the forehead, a more defined facial structure achieved by adjusting the black pigment near the cheek and right eye, and meticulous attention to the shape and lining of the lips. The chin's shape and shading have been optimized, and the eyes, along with the skin textures on the neck, have been detailed further. Although the sweat droplets on the chest are still being fine-tuned, notable headway has been made. This artwork is pushing me to new limits in capturing skin textures and water, both of which I've never drawn with such precision before. With over 2000 measurements already logged and an estimated 1000-hour timeline, this project is proving to be a substantial undertaking. Today's progress on the Mike Tyson project.
I'm about 30 hours of shading into this. So much more to go to get this looking exactly the way I need to. Pencil work is much more intensive than charcoal. This breathe, take my time, and trust the process! The Shading is very rough and still have lots of blending to do.

After starting all over again, things are going much better on the Tyson project.
Here's a little progres on about 10 hours of shading.
I'm really liking the new Bristol paper, the lumigraph and matte pencils. Just gotta trust the process.
