We get to do a lot of unique things for a lot of different people. One of my favorite things is getting to do something for people I know. We just did some custom risers on 9 bar stools, raising them 4" to better fit the counter height, for our friends at the The Peppermill .

Some jobs are just cooler than others. My customer's customer needed a plastic replacement gear made, and made in a hurry. We got that handled, but they also wanted one made from brass. So I made a pattern, had a brass casting made from the pattern, and then machined a brass gear! Always something new!

Some days are more interesting than others here at Go Off Road Prototype & Machine...
I watch a YouTube channel called Matt's Off Road Recovery. I know a few of you do as well. If you don't, it's kind of a fun thing to watch, especially if you go off-roading or duning much. (Probably still entertaining even if you don't!)
Well, I got to meet another YouTube personality, who also has an off road recovery channel, Rick Murphy (Murphy's Diesel), he is competing in Matt's Off Road Games! It's kinda a big deal!
You see, Rick Murphy needed a couple of Hawes Style Fairleads for the end of his boom on his off-road wrecker, HellBoy.
Guess who got the call to make these!?
YEP! THIS GUY!
They showed up to pick these up, camera rolling. I of course gave them the nickel tour of the shop and explained all of what we can do. I don't know how much will make the cut when the video is posted in a couple of weeks, but we shall see!
Spoiler~ the video is out and we made the cut!

Customer ~"Hey, the Arizona Senate needs some new door pulls for the senate building. Something you can do?" He then sends pictures of what they want.
Me ~"Yep! I can do these!"
Customer ~"They need them by the end of the year..."
Me ~ "Hmmmmm... that's only 4-1/2 weeks away! How fast can you get approval? That's about 2 months worth of work. Make tooling, have foundry pour the castings, machine and finish castings etc... AND I'm supposed to fly to Oregon for a week at Christmas! So let's see how fast they can approve!!!"
November 30th I got approval
December 1st I got the information on exactly what I was making and started the project.
20 straight days of working LONNNNNGGGG days and BOOOOM! FINISHED!

Wrapped up an Aircraft Carrier Pour Station/Drip Tray, the USS Eisenhower, to be more precise.
A fire hydrant/tap spout will come up though the tray, where the round opening is.
This is another item for Oath Brewing in Plant City FL. A brewery aimed at honoring our military and first responders. Pretty cool!
It took waaaaaay longer than expected but a quote is a quote and if I'm going to lose a bit, I'm happy that it's for something I can feel good about.

I've been busy! And in being busy, I've not posted much about what I've been working on. So here are some of the things that have come through the shop in the last few months. There have been many more things, but here are some fun ones!

I recently had an opportunity to make a couple of replica items. A pair of Paul Revere lanterns, at 3 times normal size. My blueprint? A photo. Sure, I can do this! They are for a brewery in Florida. I think they turned out pretty great!

I had the pleasure of dealing with an engineer who has a hobby that is right up my alley! He likes cars! Fast, fun, custom cars!

I try not to work weekends but sometimes a customer has an emergency type job that needs a rapid turn around. So I'm at the shop again today, making some big parts! It's a pivot for a very heavy gate (in excess of 3000lbs) I'll be wrapping it up tomorrow so they can install before Thanksgiving.
