Commitment is the foundation of great accomplishment. β¨β€οΈ
So why do we all struggle with commitment? π€
What has commitment, led you to accomplish in your life? Or rewarded you with? What has avoiding commitment, done to your life??
One of the *official* definitions of the word literally states, "an engagement or action that constricts ones freedom or action." π³π
πΌββοΈ
WOW... Pretty heavy. Is that true? An underlying tone and belief about the word and what it means - greatly impacts how we feel and respond, and choose...
*FREEDOM* means the power or right to act, speak, or think as one chooses...
Do we not have the power to choose our commitments? Are we not FREE to commit where, and when we want to?
I personally believe that commitment is defined by: The consistent belief behind a choice that you freely make...
Maybe making that choice means you're vulnerable, or that you might fail, or maybe you might succeed and you ask do you deserve that success, maybe it means you might be left and abandoned. So we refrain from the commitment. We refrain from the attachment. We refrain from the choices...
Avoidance. So we're "safe" now... But. We're also sitting in fear.
If we feel that commitment restricts freedom, not only will we avoid it because we all need freedom and personal power and choice, but it will guarantee that we don't reach our goals, accomplishments, connections, love, etc. that the belief and commitment was the birthplace of.
The TRUTH is, people who are committed, are being the most authentically and truly and freely themselves, and better recognize their own personal power of choice that we all have!!
Be careful how you define your life, and the beliefs or fears that drive it.
