Just as a reminder to myself and others, any project request involving the use of silk velvet fabric in any amount will require a $500 upcharge to the estimate, to be collected before any sewing begins.

Projects requests involving rayon/synthetic velvet fabric will require a $250 upcharge.

Any project requests involving cotton velvet or velveteen fabric will require a supply of at least 3 bottles of red wine to be supplied by the client, the brand and type to be decided by the designer during the consultation.

These terms are not up for negotiation.

Another one of a kind belt pouch is ready to leave the STD workroom. This one is black, but far from basic.

Black velvet, trimmed with metallic braid and cording, and accented with gold metal findings and glass beads.

The bronze silk interior has a separate pocket fit veg and cards, as well as a clasp to secure your keys. Custom tassels finish the bottom edge of the pouch.

Interior dimensions are 10"W x 8" D.

$150 plus $15 shipping.

Please feel free to DM Scott Tickler Designs with any questions or quotes on custom work.

Phinneas was nowhere near the workroom when I opened the door. By the time I had removed the topmost bin and turned back around, this was waiting for me. I need the 2nd bin from the bottom, because of course I do.

This was a pouch that I made for a client, but I have something different in mind for him. I'm offering this up to the world. This was one of the originals I made as proof of concept and it's a bit smaller with a pouch size of 9"w x 6.5" h. It holds my Samsung 26, but only just.
This does feature a brown brocade fabric with metallic gold trim, velvet ribbon, with glass and metal beads. The lining is a bright green taffeta.
I'm offering this one for $85 plus shipping.

I finished another pouch, but I think I'm keeping this one for myself. I think I have just enough of this fabric to create one more.

Black and gold brocade fabric, gold trim, gold cording, black velvet ribbon, Indian embroidery.

Another STD has found a home! After seeing my work, this lovely client reached out to inquire about a custom pouch. Her garb is black and red, and she wanted something that would coordinate with it. I showed her some remnants left over from a project and suggested a few ideas. After getting her blessing to move forward, this is the final result. She's very happy with her brand new STD!

And another STD has found its way to a new home! Blue cotton velveteen with figured silk taffeta, glass and metal beads, ostrich plumes

This was a custom job, with the goal being to recreate a hat from one of several portraits of James VI and I. This was a new style for me, and it required me to not only create a new pattern but to try out some new construction techniques.

The client and I talked about colors and fabrics, and he supplied me with a replica of the 3 Brothers jewel from Armor and Castings. They also created the jeweled buttons that I used in place of ooches.

My original plan for the hatband was to copy one that James wears in one of his portraits. The band is decorated with a series of jeweled ooches spaced between rows of large pearls. I was about halfway done with the band when I realized that it was going to add at least a pound of metal and glass to the hat. While I'm willing to wear some ridiculous things in the name of historic costuming, I couldn't in good conscience do that to my client. I think the pared down version that I created is a good compromise between historic style and modern function.

I admit that I try on every hat I make, and I had a hard time letting this one go. I'm going to need to make one of these for my own collection.

Oh, and I love the fact that my client bears a more than passing resemblance to King James.

Thank you Brian!

This picture just brought way too much joy into my life this morning. A client thanked me for her STD. It was 6am, the cats were obviously starving to death, and I was cackling like a crazy man. Good times.

I do think I need to clear something up about my business name. First of all, Tickler really is my last name. It's right there on my original factory paperwork. Apparently, Tickler is a funny name. And OOOHHH the jokes that were thrown at me, usually by 9 year olds. Rotten little bastards...

Anyway, the name of my business was the organic choice. Scott Tickler Designs just made sense. The addition of the slightly off color acronym was just * chefs kiss.* I'm only a little sorry if anybody is shocked by my humor.

I'm highly amused that the STD acronym happened without any planning. And yes, I'm fully aware of what it looks like. I figured the universe saw the joke before I did and just threw me a bone. Believe me when I say it wasn't the plan, but I'm happy for the gift of humor. You don't need to be offended on my behalf.

Thank you all who have laughed along with me. I'm glad that so many of you are helping me to spread STD's far and wide. My goal is to have a STD at every festival in the country. And with your support, I can make that happen!

Seriously. Buy my art. I have cats to support.
