📚 Looking for ways to keep your child learning this summer without turning your home into a classroom?

Try these simple reading activities:

✅ Let your child pick the book. Kids are more likely to read when they're interested in the topic.

✅ Read together. Even older students benefit from taking turns reading pages aloud.

✅ Ask questions while reading:
• What do you think will happen next?
• Who is your favorite character?
• What would you do in this situation?

✅ Connect books to real life. Reading about animals? Visit a zoo. Reading about nature? Take a family walk and explore.

✅ Keep books visible. A basket of books in the living room can encourage spontaneous reading throughout the day.

Just 15 minutes of reading each day can help students strengthen vocabulary, comprehension, and confidence before the new school year begins.

Balance screen time with activities that encourage creativity, movement, and learning.

💬 Encourage Daily Conversations
Talking with your child about their interests, experiences, and ideas helps build communication skills and confidence.

🧩 Let Kids Solve Problems Independently
Giving children opportunities to think through challenges on their own helps develop resilience and critical thinking skills.

As we close out the 2025-2026 school year we want every member of the Sage Elementary staff to know how deeply appreciated you are. Not just this week, not just today, but every single day of the year.

A quick reminder for our families, there is no school on Monday May 25th in observance of Memorial Day. Our last day of school is Thursday May 28th and it will be a half day!

Just a reminder for our Dragon families, there is no school on Monday May 25th in observance of Memorial Day. Enjoy the long weekend and come back ready to finish strong!

Our last day of school is Thursday May 28th and it will be a HALF DAY so plan accordingly. 🎉

Surprise a teacher with a single flower to say “thanks a bunch!”

Bring your teacher their favorite snack or treat.

Bring a book for the classroom and a thank you note to wrap up the week.
