Getting to know…Tracy, Executive Director at Ryan House!!! Where do we even start? Tracy is such an amazing human and friend and advocate of PTH that we just HAVE to give her an extended edition of “Getting to know…”, in her words:

* My favorite animal is almost any baby animal – but I am obsessed with Mars the pygmy hippo, who is just turning one. My husband surprised me with a trip to Wichita last fall to meet Mars.
* If I could travel anywhere, I would want to spend 3 months traveling around Italy. My mom’s family is from Italy, and I would love to go and spend time in the towns where they lived. Not just visiting, but getting to spend time getting to know the towns and what foods each town/region is known for. An extended Stanley Tucci in Italy.
* If I could have any superpower, it would be the power to make support appear exactly when families need it. At Ryan House, we help give families whose child is medically complex a break from 24/7 caregiving. Every parent caring for a child with a medical complexity deserves moments to rest, recharge, and simply be present with their loved ones. I would use my superpower to ensure no family ever feels invisible, overwhelmed, or alone on their journey.

What a wonderful time we had with the campers, counselors, and staff this week at Camp Rainbow…an annual summer camp for patients of Phoenix Children’s who have, or have had cancer or a chronic blood disorder. An amazing camp run by some amazing people! 🏕️🌈🥰

Getting to know…Reem, Child Life Assistant at Phoenix Children’s Hospital! She works in the playroom in the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders and loves getting to be involved with the best part of their treatment as she watches the kiddos progress, get more social, and make friends (we’re lucky to call her one of ours!). Reem’s favorite color is pink, she’d love to go to Scotland to see the wild highlands and castles, she enjoys reading fantasy books and learning to sew, and if she could have any superpower it would be to read her animals minds (I’m sure they’re thinking about how lucky they are to be with Reem!). 🔮🐶😊

A HUGE shoutout to Colten Cowell Foundation for helping us celebrate 2 amazing kiddos over the past few months while also supporting our program! We are SO grateful to be able to partner with you! 🦸‍♀️🥰🦸🏻‍♀️
