Last week, our members enjoyed a community outing to Lam's Market, where they had the opportunity to explore new foods, practice shopping skills, and experience different cultures.

Outings like these are about so much more than grocery shopping. Members practiced budgeting, making purchasing decisions, communicating with cashiers, navigating a retail environment, and building confidence in everyday community settings.

These real world experiences are an important part of helping our members grow in independence while strengthening the life and workplace skills they'll use for years to come.

🔬🧪 Science Comes to Life at ADS! 🌋

Our members had a blast in Science Class creating their very own lava lamps! Watching the colorful bubbles rise and fall wasn't just fun—it was a hands on way to explore science in action.

Activities like this encourage curiosity, observation, problem solving, following directions, and critical thinking while helping members build confidence through learning and discovery.

At Arizona Developmental Services, we believe the best learning happens when education is interactive, engaging, and meaningful. Every experiment is another opportunity to explore new ideas, ask questions, and develop valuable life skills in a supportive environment.

👩‍🍳🍽️ It's been a delicious week in Cooking Class at ADS!

This week, our members prepared and enjoyed grilled cheese sandwiches with fideo and egg salad sandwiches with homemade potato soup!

Every meal is an opportunity to build valuable LIFE SKILLS. From following recipes and practicing kitchen safety to working as a team, preparing ingredients, and cleaning up, our members are gaining CONFIDENCE and INDEPENDENCE with every class.

At Arizona Developmental Services, we're proud to create hands on learning experiences that help our members grow while having fun together. Great food, great friendships, and meaningful life skills—it's a recipe for success!

🚀 BIG things are happening at Arizona Developmental Services!

Today, our ADS Works! program is in full swing, and we’re incredibly excited to welcome Fraqtals and Jeff Reynolds Productions as they help bring this vision to life.

This is so much more than learning to make custom apparel. It’s about creating opportunities, building confidence, developing real-world job skills, and empowering adults with disabilities to discover what’s possible.

We’re grateful for partners who believe in our mission and are investing their time, talents, and hearts into the lives of our members. This is just the beginning of what ADS Works! will become, and we can’t wait to watch it grow.

At ADS, we believe every individual deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed. ADS Works! is built to empower adults with abilities through hands on job training, workplace readiness, and real world experiences that build confidence, independence, and valuable career skills.

This is more than a program. It's a commitment to creating opportunities, building inclusive workplaces, and helping individuals discover what's possible.

🎒❤️ Teamwork That Gives Back! ❤️🎒

Our members had an amazing time partnering with Backpacks 4 Kids AZ by helping pack snack bags for families and individuals in our community. With a full assembly line in action, everyone worked together to sort, pack, and prepare each bag with care! 🙌🥪

Activities like this do more than give back—they build teamwork, communication, confidence, and valuable job readiness skills. Every snack bag packed is a reminder that small acts of kindness can make a big difference.

Backpacks 4 Kids AZ began with one young girl's desire to help a classmate and has grown into an incredible organization that provides thousands of backpacks filled with school supplies each year, operates a family food pantry, and prepares snack bags and hygiene kits for neighbors experiencing homelessness. We are grateful to partner with organizations that share our commitment to serving the community.

Our members had a blast in Cooking Class making festive Patriotic Jello Cups! 🎉👩‍🍳

From carefully layering the colorful ingredients to adding the finishing touches, this fun activity helped build kitchen skills, encouraged creativity, and gave everyone the chance to enjoy a sweet treat they made themselves.
