Once Upon a Star is a non-profit collective of exceptional young adults with special needs who partic Suddenly, there were 35 orders for such beaded stars!
It all began on a Saturday morning in an art class for young adults with some very special needs. The project involved beads, a wire frame, simple instructions, and the skills of a local artist and a teaching team. The artist and teaching team harnessed a desire to share their time in order to build a structured social and work environment for those young adults. Together they created a unique ite

Our May class was called Step’s Junk Funk. Our friends Step and Lisa introduced us to all different types of items that could produce percussion sounds . We “played “ metal kettles, tubes, plastic eggs, pipes, hoses, large buckets and various other sound items For fun, we composed our own musical compositions. We had a great time . Thank you Step and Lisa🎼

PLEASE NOTE:
Upon a Star will not have a June class . We will meet again on Saturday July 4 th to celebrate America’s 250th Birthday with a good old fashion tap class . Liliana will help us create our own choreography as we learn You are a Grand Old Flag . Remember we have our own tap shoes that slide over our shoes or you can wear heavy socks. No need to bring shoes. Please do not wear flip-flops. Hope you can join us.
