While renovation of the old historical building has dominated the first six months of construction activity at the Home2 Suites EB-5 hospitality project in Ashland, Ohio, new construction has taken center stage in June. Developer and operator Witness investment has the project, which qualifies for both the rural and high unemployment set-aside categories, on track for a 2027 Q1 completion.

The Department of State released its July 2026 Visa Bulletin and as expected, the EB-5 unreserved category for India has been labeled as “Unavailable”. This simply means that the allotment of unreserved EB-5 visas for Indians has been used up for FY 2026, which ends on September 30, 2026.
The good news is that India remains close to clearing its pre-RIA unreserved backlog. The remaining backlog may clear relatively quickly when visas are issued again beginning on October 1, 2026. In other news, the three reserved set-aside categories (rural, high unemployment, infrastructure) remain current for all countries, including India and China.

Last week saw the delivery of a large order of steel to the Terra Vi Marble Canyon EB-5 project site. The steel will be used for prefabrication work at the site. Work also continues on the event center, which is a complete renovation of the old lodge site.
Upon completion, this unique hospitality project will place guests at the doorstep of many of Arizona’s natural wonders.
