We’re proud to announce a meaningful partnership between us at and 🤍

Together, we’re strengthening child protection through specialized training focused on s*x trafficking and s*x extortion awareness for staff at Sunshine Acres’ Training Haven program. This initiative equips caregivers with the knowledge to recognize warning signs, understand vulnerabilities, and better safeguard the children they serve.

For over 71 years, Sunshine Acres has provided a loving, stable home for children in need, caring for more than 2,000 youth and we are honored to support their mission through education and prevention resources.

This partnership reflects our shared commitment to protecting children, empowering communities, and standing up against exploitation. We trust this is just the beginning. We look forward to partnering with more local Arizona organizations to expand awareness, strengthen prevention, and create safer futures for vulnerable youth.
Because real change happens when communities come together.

Human trafficking isn’t just on the news. It’s next door.
Theresa Flores from was trafficked for two years in a middle-class neighborhood, and most people never suspected a thing. This is her story… before the mission begins.

A survivor. A speaker. A force for change.

What you went through was not normal, but these healing responses are. Here are 4 ways your body might be coping after you’ve left abuse.

1. Your body may still be in survival mode - Just because you left that doesn’t mean the body knows yet. As a way to survive, your body tried to prepare and protect you as it does in a flight or fight mode when there is a threat. It takes muscule memory and intentional healing, at the pace that feels best for you, to allow yourself to safely know this new life is okay for you to be in again.

2. Memories and words may return slowly - Some things you may have forgotten will come back into your mind at the most random or inconvenient times. This is why having grounding and coping mechanisms are so important to use in the moment because those thoughts may feel very much like they are happening in the moment as they cross your mind. Come up with a safety plan to try and process your way through them, with your support system if necessary.

3. Emotions may come in like tidal waves - Your body being in survival mode didn’t have the time to process the events that happend to you. The emotions surfacing mean you are going through the healing cycle. It’s important to remember the emotions will pass and to try your best to handle them as they come. Healing is in cycles. Don’t get discouraged if it doesn’t feel linear.

4. There is no timeline on speaking your story - On your journey, as you may be finding resources and other survivors, you may feel heard and inspired. Remember, there is no right or wrong way to want to share or heal on your journey. Do what feels most authentic to you. There is no rush or expectation in how you move forward through this new life. All that matters is you get to make those decisions yourself now.
