To the new friends and faces I’ve met this past year, and if we haven’t met in person yet, hello.

I’m Melissa, the owner and designer of AreaEdit. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree with a specialization in Interior Design and started this business in 2021, while living in Scottsdale, AZ. Over the past year, I’ve been working in San Francisco.

My experience spans luxury residential, hospitality, and aviation design, including private jets. I find inspiration in travel, visual storytelling, and comedy.

Fashion was my first love in my twenties, where I launched a jewelry line, an influence that still shapes how I approach design today.

It was all in the details for me as I viewed this year and every designer did an incredible job! My attention was drawn to the corners within the larger areas and the overlapping choices of materials and colors. 👏🏼

I discovered some interesting art at the gallery reception. Each piece stood out to me in a unique way, telling its own story among everything else there.

Last year at this time, I had the privilege of designing the interiors of private Gulfstream jets in one of the most charming locations that southern Georgia has to offer. I learned a great deal from that design experience, but what stands out to me the most is that cobblestone streets and heels do not mix.
