We’ve received questions about the recently announced change regarding Christie, VistaPHX, and the Spyder product line.

We want to be clear: we do not have any inside information beyond what Christie has publicly announced.

In February, Christie announced that VistaPHX was expected to purchase the Spyder division. Like many Spyder users, we were excited about what that could mean for dedicated development, advancement, and support around the platform.

In May, Christie announced that negotiations had ended and that the transaction would not be moving forward.
Because the future ownership path and roadmap for Spyder-S are currently unclear, we have made the decision to pause our Spyder-S rentals and related activity until there is more clarity.

This pause is specific to Spyder-S.

We want to reassure our clients and partners that Spyder X80 remains fully supported by our team. The X80 has been a reliable workhorse for us, and it will continue to be an important and supported part of our production workflow.

We are responding to the public information available and making what we believe is the responsible decision for our clients, our team, and the long-term reliability of the systems we support.

HRE is heading to InfoComm 2026 — and Drew Taylor will be walking the show floor, connecting with partners, catching up with clients, and checking out the latest technology shaping the future of live events.
