Hand Crafted Curios Pleasant welcomes, my name is Sara, the originator of Cackling Witch Designs. For more information please stay tuned for a FAQ section.

Thanks for stopping in, let's brief who I am as a human, artist and witch. I am a cackling connoisseur of life by day and by night I am a sensory driven creature who explores art thru materials such as rocks, sand and wire to name a few. I hand craft glass jars, containers, flower pots and more with a dark, peculiar aesthetic. "Witchy", "Creepy", "Unique", "Bizarre" are words I would describe my a

Look, I KNOW as a creative with ADHD I need another art form to practice. Clearly, I need it. I need it to add to all of my others. lol Seriously though, I want to learn paper mache so I can recreate these in various sizes.

Note: I purchased this cornucopia at a thrift store so it’s not my original design but when I saw it I didn’t realize that’s what it was. I only saw a giant parasite / leech waiting to be conjured and that’s what he is. My cute lil Thanksgiving parasite. He joins us at the table and waits patiently for our scraps. lol

Having sensory “issues” and delights has encouraged me to create bottles that feel good to hold. Adhering sand to bottles provides a grounding and soothing texture for me which helps bring me into the moment. It works wonderfully for me during my practices but I encouraging you to hold the bottles yourself and see how you connect with them. What texture would you like to feel? Do different texture evoke different emotions in you?

All fun things to explore and discover about yourself whether you have a spiritual practice or not. Maybe your DnD character needs a bottle to store their things? Maybe you have butter fingers and the texture helps with your grip? Either way, it’s all for good reasons 🖤

I love tracing outlines of paint with no expectations. Seeing what wants to show up is what makes it fun for me. Accepting what happens… not forcing what I think it should look like. I get too caught up in comparison or wanting people to like it. That’s not authentic and art has freedom to be what it wants when it wants. Sometimes it wants to be a kinky lil bi**h, unruly. Other times it wants that hard discipline, structure and progression. Whatever you need it to be when you need it, it’s there for you so have fun 💋

These sweet babies are my Glimpse Jars. Although I love all of my creations, these hold a special place in my heart because sometimes all you need is a glimpse to be transported back to a magical place.

Are you Witches ready to ride?! Everything is cuter when it’s tiny so pick up your tiny brooms now!

Made from dried Cow Parsnip.

Fun fact : Fresh Cow Parsnip has a sap that can cause a blistering rash that some describe feeling like a chemical burn. Pretty metal for a cute plant. lol luckily I only foraged the very obvious deceased ones for this project and removed all seeds so no chance of biological dispersal.

When you have an emotional breakdown I highly encourage you to follow the weird ideas you have creatively.

For no reason whatsoever after one of my episodes I had a desire to press my wet face against a transparent film (which is honestly a piece of trash I saved). I put it on the projector and was so excited to see two faces turned towards one another. Instantly inspired and rejuvenated.

Following that urge reinforced my need to create.
