Three years ago, the dream of homeownership began. This week, she received the keys. 🔑 🏡

For Garfield’s newest homeowner, this moment represents three years of dreaming, researching, preparing and working toward a place to call her own.

And as Brenda Lopez, President & CEO of Trellis, shares in the video, getting here took partnership.

RDF is proud to have worked alongside Trellis, the City of Phoenix, the Arizona Community Foundation, and state leadership under Governor Katie Hobbs to help make homeownership opportunities like this possible.

This closing marks the first home sale in Trellis’ Garfield development and the final use of AIH funds reserved for these newly constructed homes—an important milestone for the development and the partners who helped bring it to life.

But the most meaningful milestone belongs to the new homeowner herself.

As she shares in her own words, becoming a homeowner isn’t easy. After a three-year journey, she can finally say:

Hundreds of students have greater access to education today because Guadalupe Centers had a vision for growth.

With the right financing and strong community leadership, that vision expanded into one of Missouri's largest charter school systems.

One thing we heard again and again during the Lending Learning Lab was the value of learning alongside people who understand the work.

For leaders helping entrepreneurs access capital and grow their local economies, that connection matters.

This reflection captures what made the experience so meaningful: new ideas, honest conversations, and a renewed sense of purpose.

We're grateful to this year's cohort and the work they continue to lead in their communities.

For many families, homeownership creates opportunities that last for generations.

When a housing project in Lamont, California, faced financing challenges, a partnership helped move the project forward.

Today, more families have access to safe, affordable homes and the stability that comes with them.

One of the most rewarding parts of our work is supporting people who are deeply committed to their communities.
