🦜Can you please explain why they called "love"birds again?
That childhood story is wild—but it's exactly what happens when lovebird hormones take over! To keep your flock safe and your bird happy, here are 3 critical Lovebird Do's and Don'ts every owner needs to know:
🚫🥚 DO NOT BREED: Unless you are a professional, do not give them nest boxes, tents, or huts. Breeding triggers extreme territorial aggression.
🚫🪶 PET THE HEAD ONLY: Only pet your lovebird on its head and neck! Stroking their back, wings, or tail is a sexual trigger that makes them wildly hormonal and bitey.
👑🦜 THE "SINGLE LIFE" RULE: If you want a lovebird that bonds with you, keep just one! When they pair up with another lovebird, they tend to bond tightly to each other, reject humans, and become much more defensive. However, They can do pretty good with other species.

🇺🇸🕊️ MEMORIAL DAY SPECIAL: THE HEROES WITH FEATHERS! 🕊️🎖️🚨 This Memorial Day, while we honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice, Valleywide Parrot Rescue wants to salute the incredible feathered heroes of the U.S. Army Signal Corps! 🦅🪖💥 During WWI, when all radio lines failed, these courageous homing pigeons flew straight through machine-gun fire, poison gas, and exploding artillery shells to deliver life-saving messages. 💣✨ They showed a level of fierce loyalty and stubborn resilience that saved thousands of human soldiers—the exact same fighting spirit we see in our rescue birds every single day! 😭❤️
1️⃣ CHER AMI (The Savior of the "Lost Battalion") 🎖️🩹
In 1918, 194 American soldiers were completely trapped behind enemy lines, taking heavy friendly fire by mistake. 😱🆘 Their last hope was a pigeon named Cher Ami. As she took off, enemy soldiers opened fire. She was shot through the breast, blinded in one eye, and her right leg was left hanging by a single tendon. 🩸💔 BUT SHE REFUSED TO DROP! 🦅🔥 She flew 25 miles in 25 minutes, delivered the message, stopped the bombing, and saved all 194 men. Tragically, she passed away less than a year later due to complications from these severe battle wounds. 😭🙌
2️⃣ MOCKER (The Artillery Silencer) 🦅💥
During a brutal battle in France, American troops were pinned down by a hidden enemy artillery battery. 💥🛑 Mocker was released into a sky filled with heavy shelling. Mid-flight, a piece of shrapnel destroyed his left eye and gashed his skull open. 🧠🩸 Drenched in blood and severely disoriented, Mocker kept flying and successfully delivered the coordinates! 🗺️🎯 The enemy guns were silenced within minutes, saving an entire division. Army vets patched him up, and this incredibly tough survivor lived a long life as a decorated veteran! 🙏🔥
3️⃣ PRESIDENT WILSON (The Tank Corps Hero) 🇺🇸🦾
Serving with the U.S. Tank Corps in 1918, this brave bird was released from a fiercely spinning tank into a thick blanket of fog and intense enemy fire. 🌫️🔫 German soldiers targeted him immediately, shooting away his entire left leg and shattering his breastbone. 💔🩸 Despite his horrific, painful injuries, President Wilson refused to give up. He flew through the gunfire to deliver critical enemy machine-gun positions, saving dozens of American soldiers on the ground before retiring as a military legend. 🪖❤️
