Hosted by the City of Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department and the North Glen Square Neighborhood Association, this free community event is a great opportunity to gather with family, friends and neighbors for a fun evening under the stars.

Be sure to bring blankets, lawn chairs and your favorite snacks!

Fresh news for the ! 🍎🥕🎉

Sixteen WESD schools have been selected to participate in the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) for the 2026-2027 school year! The goals of the FFVP are to encourage healthier school environments by promoting nutrition education, increase overall acceptance and consumption of fresh, unprocessed produce among children, and make a difference in children’s diets to positively impact their present and future health.

Thanks to the FFVP, the WESD Nutrition Services Department will be able to serve students at these schools with free fruits and vegetables throughout the school year - helping encourage healthy habits, nutrition education, and a love for fresh produce that supports lifelong wellness! Way to go!

Our last house meeting of the year was extra special because our kindergarteners were able to join their houses before our last assembly! We loved announcing our new house leaders and getting together one last time before summer.

Amazing things happen at Ocotillo even in the early morning! Our morning piano class shared the progress with a room full of parents and teachers! Thank you to Ms. Decker for working with these students way before the first bell. Students we are so proud of the progress you were making!

6th grade finished their year with an ice cream party. We will miss these kiddos when they make their way to middle school in the fall!

As a reminder, the WESD will hold its next Food Pantry distribution tomorrow, June 4, from 8 to 9 a.m. in the Washington Resource Information Center at our school. Please join us to receive food at no cost, while supplies last!

Mrs. George and Mrs. Taylor enjoyed celebrating Mr. Aguilar, Ms. Morales, and SMS. Rice as they graduated from the BEGIN program. These educators have spent their first 3 years in the district growing as professionals through the district’s teacher induction program. We are proud of their dedication to their craft!

Kona Ice was a huge hit and the perfect addition to our last Friday of the year. Thank you to our PTO volunteers who helped at our Kona Ice days throughout the year. This monthly treat will definitely be on our calendar again!
