Fall protection is the most cited OSHA violation in the country, 15 years running.

The citations are not limited to construction sites. Overhead crane inspection and maintenance work falls under general industry standard 29 CFR http://1910.28, which requires fall protection at just 4 feet above a lower level.

When our technician climbs to service your runway system, the compliance clock is running. CraneTech always arrives prepared.

CraneTech technicians are equipped and trained for elevation work on every visit. Contact us at (866) 994-6478 or visit https://hubs.la/Q04kD6tk0.

When a new manufacturing facility opens, it represents more than a building. It represents growth, opportunity, and investment in the community.

CraneTech recently completed the build, installation, and commissioning of four overhead cranes, two 20-ton tandem systems and two 10-ton tandem systems with tandem trolleys, for a new manufacturing operation in Shelby Township, Michigan. Our team worked to ensure everything was tested, commissioned, and ready ahead of the facility's grand opening.

CraneTech is proud to support the kind of expansion that strengthens local manufacturing and creates new opportunity in the region.

Overhead crane compliance comes down to four fundamentals: inspection records, load markings, maintenance history, and safe load handling procedures. Gaps in any of those four areas are where citations happen.

CraneTech inspections are built around those fundamentals. Every visit is documented and performed by trained technicians who understand what compliance looks like in practice.

The fire sprinkler pipe that changed everything.

Original design specs at an Applied Aerospace facility didn't account for a last-minute adjustment to the sprinkler system - which was immediately flagged as a low headroom obstruction. This posed a serious adjustment to the project timeline, however, CraneTech was able to swiftly modify the main beam design to clear the obstruction - without compromising the crane's primary functions or the original installation timeline.

Nearly 20 years later, Applied Aerospace operates eight CraneTech crane systems across their 420,000 square foot facility in Stockton, California.

Plant Engineering Manager Christopher Hansen, http://P.E., put it plainly: "They respond to our needs quickly and deliver without fail."

When the specs change mid-project, the right partner adapts. Contact CraneTech at (866) 994-6478 or visit https://hubs.la/Q04kJ4yF0.

OSHA issued a National Emphasis Program for Heat-Related Hazards (CPL 03-00-024), effective April 10, 2026. The program targets indoor facilities with radiant heat sources, including steel mills, foundries, and metals manufacturing operations.

Facilities in these industries should expect increased OSHA inspection activity. When compliance officers enter a facility, they review hazardous conditions in plain view, including overhead crane systems and safety documentation.

CraneTech serves facilities across these industries nationwide. A documented overhead crane inspection program supports your compliance record.

CraneTech is at the Elko Mining Expo this week. Find us at Booth 224-226.

Overhead crane systems in mining environments operate under conditions that standard industrial specifications do not address. If your facility handles high-cycle material movement, extreme temperatures, or heavy particulate exposure, the conversation about lifting systems looks different.

Stop by Booth 224-226 and ask CraneTech what that conversation looks like for your operation.

Rail sweeps are required on all overhead traveling cranes under OSHA http://1910.179(e)(1)(vi). They attach to the end trucks and clear debris from the runway rail ahead of the wheels.

A rail without sweeps accumulates bolts, wire, and material scraps over time. When a wheel contacts that debris can cause a derailment event that carries serious production and safety consequences.

CraneTech inspects rail sweep condition and compliance as part of every overhead crane inspection program.

Everyone on the floor knows that one component needs attention. It's been on the inspection report for weeks. The crane still runs. Production continues. Nobody schedules the repair.

Then OSHA conducts a site visit. Or the component fails during a shift.

Known issues create expensive problems when they don't get scheduled. CraneTech's maintenance programs address flagged components during planned windows—before they become citations or emergency shutdowns.

Talking about repairs doesn't fix equipment. Scheduling them does.

When your crane goes down at 2 AM, you need someone who's been there before.

Our technicians average 15+ years in the industry, and we keep investing in their training; not just when they're hired, but throughout their careers. That means better diagnostics, repairs that stick, and fewer callbacks. It's a simple equation: experienced technicians who keep learning = less downtime for your facility.
