Community Sponsorship Hub and the Welcome Corps program created two dedicated application support sessions for Afghan communities as a follow-up to the information session done for diaspora and community leaders.
These sessions will offer more in-depth support for application steps and guidance for sponsors. The sessions will be available in English/Dari and English/Pashto.

Refugee and Asylee Clothing Closet
American Muslim Women's Association of Arizona has partnered with Alhambra Elementary School District to re-open the clothing closet serving recently arrived refugees and asylees.
The closet will be hosted at the Alhambra Family Resource Center, located at 4432 W. Maryland Ave, Room #208, Glendale, AZ, 85301.
The closet will be open from 8:30-11:30am on the following dates:
Fridays 3/22, 4/5, 4/12, 4/19, 4/26, 5/3, 5/19, 5/17, 5/24
Wed 3/27 - to cover for closed school holiday 3/29
June- July open on Weds 6/5, 6/12, 6/19, 6/26, 7/3, 7/10, 7/17, 7/24, 7/31

Community Center Open House!
Chicanos Por La Causa -CPLC is hosting a Community Center Open House and Latino Digital Workforce Skills Presentation. CPLC has received a Latino Digital Workforce grant from the Hispanic Federation to help enhance the community workforce activities by strengthening the digital skills of the Latino community.
The event will allow individuals to learn about the CPLC Community Center youth and adult programs, tour the CPLC Community Center, see the Saguaros Innovation Lab for high school students and young adults, and visit the Amanecer Teen Lounge and learn about prevention programming.
The Open House will be on Thursday, February 29, 2024, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Iskash*taa Refugee Network's Sala Del Libros Program is an intergenerational literacy space pioneered in Mexico, with its version centered on refugee languages and cultures.
The Sala Del Libros Program is where youth, adults, and elders gather in conversation around books, storytelling, and civic engagement.

Free Virtual Afghan Employment Authorization Clinic
Immigration Legal Services for Afghan Arrivals (ILSAA), in partnership with the American Bar Association's Commission on Immigration, is offering a free virtual Afghan Employment Authorization (EAD) Clinic for Afghans who are Operation Allies Welcome/Operation Allies Refuge (OAW/OAR) Parolees, who received an automatic extension of their parole status, and who want a new C(11) employment authorization document.
The clinic will provide assistance with completing the forms required to receive an EAD based on your OAW/OAR parole. The clinic will be held virtually on Friday, January 19th from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
