We open each workshop with a brief writing tip and discussion. Then we craft something short on the spot. We take a few minutes to polish it up and then we share about our work.

This class is a combo between an art class, a game show, and a therapy circle with strangers. Bring a growth mindset, a playful spirit, a little bit of bravery, and a desire to flow into the deeper parts of yourself. No talent required. This group meets the second and fourth Saturday at 6PM.

We get a lot of mixed messages about “love” when we’re young. We may have been taught that loving someone
means undying loyalty, living for
someone else’s preferences as the expense of meeting our own needs, protecting
someone with half
-
truths, or fearing for someone’s safety.
Love should not feel like walking on egg shells, resignation, or anxious checking. Love is unconditional acceptance
of a person as they are without wishing for them to change, respecting others’ boundaries and limitation,
communicating with kindness, and living in truth.
If a relationship is causing pain in your life, ask yourself: Is my love for them contingent on th
em changing? Is it
possible for me to drop “the potential I see for them” and focus accepting what is? Can I spend time or be
vulnerable with this person without exposing myself to harm/guilt/shame? If not, the most kind, honest, and
respectful thing to do
might be setting them free by loving them from a distance. Remember, YOU a person who
deserves love, too!
