Maria Madrid Reed Art

One of my most meaningful projects from 2025, was this vinyl mural I did for the City of Tolleson AZ - Government 's Senior Center. I am so grateful to have had this opportunity. I loved interacting with the Seniors during the brainstorming session, where they told me their stories, and shared what coming to this place every day means for them. The kindness and care poured into this center by the wonderful staff was truly heartfelt in their responses, which helped inspire this mural.

Each of the flowers represents the different kinds of personalities and backgrounds you will find here, all beautiful in their own way. The older and young hands, represent a meeting of the oldest version of ourselves, with our youngest self, also referred to as our inner child.

In life, we grow and go through many different stages, and from the moment we are born, we constantly transform and evolve. Here, I imagined that moment, where we look back and embrace all those parts of ourselves, lovingly and without judgement. Knowing that little kid is still inside regardless of the number of years we have lived. Celebrating each moment, each experience for what it was, and accepting it full of joy, love and gratitude, knowing that life continues to transform before us, and it's up to us to embrace it fully❤️

⭐️ There were so many beautiful, heartfelt photos, and it was so difficult to choose just one, but with help from the Goodyear Arts Commission, the chosen image is this beautiful photo of Kimberly and Levi Archuleta, embracing as he is being sent off on his first deployment overseas. You can almost feel the mixed emotions of love and uncertainty in Kimberly's eyes as she wraps her arms around him one more time before saying goodbye. Not long after this photo was taken, Levi was involved in an accident.

Over the years in the military, he was deployed six times. He is now serving as a Combat Engineer in the National Guard. Kimberly and Levi have been married for 14 years and are raising three young children, all under the age of ten.

⭐️ I will be painting this mural all week next week, alongside nine other talented muralists in front of Goodyear City Hall. I will be there mostly all morning and early afternoon. Come say hello!!🥰

⭐️ All murals, including this one and the ones being painted by the other artists, will be on display during the City of Goodyear's Veteran's Celebration on Veteran's Day, November 11th. Check it out! it will be from 5-8pm at Goodyear City Hall.

I am so excited to announce that I will be painting at this year's Veteran's Day Experience for the City of Goodyear!🙌

Me and 9 other talented local artists will be painting outside Goodyear's City Hall for one week, from November 3-7, 2025; and everyone is welcome to come watch as each of our murals comes to life!

🇺🇸 For this year, I would love to feature a local Veteran to honor in my mural. What I'm looking for is stories and photos of Veterans and their loved ones being reunited or sharing a special moment.

🇺🇸 As a thank you, I will gift a special signed print of the finished mural to the Veteran, (or their family) featured in the mural. The Veteran must either be from Goodyear or the greater Phoenix area, or have lived in the area for a considerable amount of time.

❤️ All finished murals will be on display for one day only during the Veteran's day festivities on November 11, 2025, from 5-8pm. Please note these are temporary, and will only be available for view during that day.

The Mercy House is a gem in our community in Cashion, AZ (Avondale). This Gala is a celebration of all of the amazing things they’ve been doing to support families and individuals for over 30 years. I will be painting live at this the event, and the artwork will be auctioned to benefit Mercy House’s programs 💖 like their community pantry, clothing assistance, tutoring, summer reading program for kids, senior program, and more.

This photo is from the painting I did for them two years ago, all finished in one night. I'm thinking of staying with the theme of animals, because honestly seeing them is one of my favorite things to do at the fair - that and eating funnel cake of course! 😆
