2012 BMW 328i Key Programming
The FEM (body control module) doesn’t allow keys to be programmed on the vehicle without first reading the eeprom and modifying it to allow new keys that are also written in electronically.
This is done on the bench with Godiag breakout box and Fem/BDC test platform, along with an immobilizer scanner/programmer and a serial data programmer.

2007 Volvo S40 all keys lost, bench programming success!
Removed the CEM from under the dashboard and opened up the module to expose the circuit board and microprocessors. Once the microprocessor type was identified, I soldered a special connection to the circuit board to read the immobilizer data and then edit that file with the new keys written to it. With the new files written and all equipment desoldered and removed from the circuit board, I put the module back together in order to install back on the vehicle. With the CEM installed back in place up under the dash, the new keys work perfectly!
Another fun and challenging job in the books for Advanced Reflash!
