He's Impressively Resilient

Having the strength to battle the Hulk and come out on top is one thing, but being able to take a prolonged beating from the green giant (who also has a rather low opinion of “puny” deities) is another.

Thankfully, the immense power of Thor’s body is coupled with extreme resistance to damage.

On a human level, Thor’s Asgardian physiology is utterly resistant and immune to such trivialities like poison, illness, fire, viruses, freezing temperatures and, of course, lightning.

In the movie, we’ve seen him get brutalized by the aforementioned Hulk, resist the direct sunlight and radiation from a star, and also take blasts from the Destroyer head-on, but in the comics, his list of survivable events are on an entirely different tier.

He’s been hit by a planet-destroying Doomsday Bomb, assaults from the uber-powerful Celestials, has been crushed under the weight of planets and, even with his powers reduced to half, was able to live through a hit from the Bloodaxe.

Thor was put on Earth by his father Odin as punishment.

Thor was placed on earth in human form by this father, Odin, primarily to experience humility.

Thor became a human and was given the name Donald Blake and had his memory wiped, so he had no recollection of being a god.

When Blake was on vacation in Norway, he witnessed aliens landing, so he took refuge in a nearby cave.

In this cave, he discovered the hammer “Mjolnir,” however it was disguised as a walking stick and needed striking against a rock before it could give him powers.

Blind to the consequences of tugging on this stick, Blake took on the power of Thor, the god of thunder.

Donald Blake had no idea, but he was always Thor.

Thor and Loki: Blood Brothers is the most striking Loki origin story

Loki shows a different side of the Asgardians and why the God of Mischief may have been destined to be evil in Thor and Loki: Blood Brothers. Here’s why we’re recommending you read/watch this summer.

Loki and Thor’s rivalry is well-documented. In recent years, they’ve gone from hating each other to respecting one another. Thor has even learned to trust the God of Lies – a title that Loki is working hard to abandon. Before that, the Frost Giant-turned-Asgardian constantly worked on destroying his brother and everything he loved.

It’s a story well told but we’ve only ever seen one side of it. One that suggests Loki’s plan to rule Asgard is something that he’s always wanted because he was evil. What if that isn’t true? There could be other reasons to explain his madness and wicked ways.

LOVE AND THUNDER Review; "Too Silly To Take Seriously [But] There's Still A Lot To Love"
Thor: Love and Thunder glosses over Valkyrie’s struggles to lead New Asgard, Miek’s intriguing transformation, and its big bad, but thankfully devotes plenty of time to exploring Thor and Jane’s relationship. We finally get to see why their romance didn’t work out and revisit their dynamic in the present day in a way that definitely satisfies.

Thor (2011)
To technically get your first taste of the MCU's Thor story, you can watch Iron Man 2 just to check out the credits scene, which features Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) coming across Thor's hammer, Mjolnir, in New Mexico. But you can get the gist of that by just hitting play on the very first Thor movie, which was directed by Kenneth Branagh and released all the way back in 2011.

Old king Thor

-He has squared off against a well-fed Galactus, faced off against an elderly Logan who possessed Phoenix Force power, and engaged in combat with the god butcher himself. He has easily rebuilt planets that have been wrecked by the shockwaves of his battles.

Who Is Thor?
Today we were lucky enough to take a closer look at the mythology of Scandinavia and dwell on one of the most important Viking god Thor. Well, let’s start with the first question that is most always ask what kind of god is Thor?

Thor god of thunder – occupies an honorable second place in the Scandinavian divine pantheon. Thor is the son of Odin and the earth goddess Erd, he represents strength (either brute physical strength or subtle strength, say, willpower) because strength was the main virtue of the Vikings.

Thor the Thunderer is a strongman with a huge hammer “Melnir”, with its help he can send thunder and lightning, with this weapon in his hands Thor constantly fights with numerous giants, who now and then want to capture the abode of the gods Asgard. The cult of Thor was very popular in Scandinavia, and its symbols – Thor’s hammers are often found in Scandinavian countries during archaeological excavations.

Thor travels in a chariot pulled by goats with his servant and messenger Tjelvar. Edda notes that the scorched earth was left behind the chariot, and the mountains crumbled and cracked behind it. When Thor was hungry, he roasted goats and ate them. To continue his journey, all he had to do was touch the remains of the goats, and they were instantly fully restored, ready to drive the chariot onward.

Thor wields the battle hammer Mjolnir, which, when thrown at its target, magically returns to its owner. To use such a powerful weapon, even a god-like Thor requires special iron gauntlets and a belt, doubling the wielder’s strength.

The blow of the hammer causes thunder; with it, Thor enjoyed the joys of his favorite hobby: killing giants.

It is also very often asked about the god of war Thor. But this question does not have a clear answer, because he either fought because he hated giants, but also was very good.
