finally getting to take the fur-runner adventuring after feeling like we are finally settled from moving. on our way to the lake my neighbor was collecting firewood on his property & was like “you’re going there in this???” (most of the locals take their atv’s up) and I was like yes ???
ended up being the easiest off roading I’ve ever done 😆 thanks to my epic build by 😎

it’s been about a month since we moved into our little cabin in the mountains & it’s been everything I could have hoped for & more!
I’ve been spending countless hours by the creek, reading books, and exploring our local hikes!

A week ago we spontaneously brought home a “free puppy” after seeing a poster at our local rural grocery store. We gave the number a ring & spoke to her owner if we could come visit.
We spoke with the owner for almost an hour, learning he is a disabled veteran who had possession of multiple Malinois military dogs & how ‘Aly’ was an accident with a neighbors Pyrenees. He told us how he’s about to have his 38th surgery and how ‘Aly’, being a “full body wagger” knocked him down and gave him a traumatic brain injury. He had the best intentions for his dogs and once we showed up to his house he was really excited that she could go to a loving home.
Roo was covered in scrapes and marks from being with her brothers and sisters and has a limp on her back leg. Despite all she is the sweetest pup with the most gentle spirit. Shes been the absolute best addition to our lives here in our cabin in Montana. We seriously couldn’t love her more.
Welcome home sweet Aroo🐾🐶🤎
Dreams really do come true 💫
5 years ago I brought Fado home from the shelter & we moved into my car until I had my next steps figured out. I had no idea the road ahead (figuratively & literally) but it ended up being even better than my wildest imagination.

Life lately at the cabin 🏔️🤎🐺✨🐾🌼
Meet the newest member of our family: Aroo🐾
Last year, when Rachel and I were in Kyrgyzstan, we stumbled upon a puppy feeding on a deceased fox….Despite our best efforts, the sweet pup was too sick to recover. We were completely heartbroken we had peace knowing he was loved and comfortable in his final moments.
Fast forward to about a week ago, we saw a poster of a puppy that needed a home here in Montana. We called the number and met Aroo for the first time and fell in love. She belonged to a disabled veteran who tried to start a Malinois rescue but unfortunately ended up having to get rid of all of his dogs due to his upcoming surgeries and current injuries….
Yesterday we brought her to her new home on the creek with her brother & sister and she fit in just perfectly. She is a full body wagger and the most giant loving pup we could ever hoped for.
Welcome home Aroo🐾
P.S. we are trying to help her previous owner rehome his other dogs. If you are interested in adopting a Malinois dog please send Rachel a dm!
Our next chapter: Life at our cabin in the mountains!!!🏔️🪵🌲
When Rachel and I met for the first time, it was as if we were looking at mirrors of each other's lives.
We'd both been living on the road by ourselves for years and had come to a place where road life was coming to an end and a new chapter was waiting for us both.
When the opportunity came up to start our new life in the mountains, it felt like a no-brainer to settle down up north and start growing roots for the first time in a long time for us both.
We can't wait to take you all with us on this new journey towards a life lived outside, but with a home base this time
