ProInspect
Servicing the entire Phoenix Metro area since 2005. Home, Commercial, Pre-Drywall, Sewer Scope, Mold
This shower wall comes with a sound effect.
seriously though, got to check for this stuff now. Drywall makes it so much harder to fix!!
I have set my share of trusses and can't think of a reason why this would happen.
There are very basic practices in the field you can use to ensure trusses are put up plumb or level. It is safe to say none of those practices were used here.
4 rules apply when framing a window opening and installing the window;
1: Plumb
2: Level
3: Square
4: 1/4 reveal (gap) between window and framing
It's pretty simple and the instructions are on every window in case they needed a reminder.
They went 0-4 on this home, everywhere. Literally looks like they forgot to the square the walls.
Seriously, you have to question the level of GAF with trades people. This home is dried-in and a day or two away from getting insulation, and to save a trip downstairs this guy just cracked opened a drain pipe, flooded the second floor, and called it a day.
I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it with it my own eyes. Actually, I would've believed it.
I could try to explain this but why bother? Just enjoy the show.
Sometimes the Plumber just sends it, obstacles be damned.
This was bold, and you'd have to think a few inches into that beam they were questioning their decision but hey, they went with it.
Obviously an easy fix. Just having some fun here. But this would definitely be an annoying discovery if it was missed.

You have to love legal marketing. Yes these are flushable. You want to know what else is flushable, my kids Legos, matchbox cars, Barbie heads. All sorts of things are flushable. It doesn't mean they'll drain.
This is beyond a red flag for an Inspector. Unfortunately we're not doing a Sewer Scope on this one, but it is definitely recommended.
Um, what is happening here? In all my years of framing and inspecting I'm not sure I've seen trusses this far out of plumb, separating, and floating over drywall.
Trusses come with plans, but I think that plan may have been ignored
Do I work on Saturdays? Depends what you call work. Cheers
