Great run this morning. 8 easy miles with my sister, followed by 4 tempo miles on rolling hills and a cool-down mile.

Tempo splits: 6:30, 6:40, 6:42, 6:30.

Humbling and amazing all at once.

After yesterday’s hike, my tendon is definitely letting me know this was a little too much. The balancing act between pushing forward and being smart about recovery is not my favorite game. It’s hard feeling limited by something that seems small but can have a big impact. I just want to run how I want to run… but that’s not always how it works.

So I’m trying to focus on what I can do instead of what I can’t. Just doing my best to get to the Berlin marathon in a place where I can run without damaging my tendon further.

Still enjoyed every mile, especially the hard ones. Those miles have a way of teaching gratitude, patience, and perspective.

These summer runs are giving me life ☀️🏃‍♂️

This week I’ve caught myself comparing where I am now to where I was a year ago. What used to be my everyday run is now my long run. There was a time when running 20 miles at a sub-7:00 pace felt normal.
But after some reflection this morning, all I felt was gratitude.

Of course I miss that level of fitness, and I still hope to get back there someday. But right now, I’m learning to find peace in what I can do instead of focusing on what I used to do. Running may never look exactly the way it once did, and that’s okay. I’ll keep showing up and doing the most I can with the body I’ve been given.

I’m also incredibly grateful for runs with my sister, Cher ❤️ Anyone who knows me knows that running is my happy place, and getting to share those miles with people I love makes it even better.

But I’m actually saying that…/

Runners are definitely not like other people.

Who else chooses to be uncomfortable on purpose, just to become stronger?

We run through the heat, the cold, the fatigue, the doubts, and the days when we don’t feel like it. Not because it’s easy, but because we know that’s where growth happens.

Non-runners might think we’re crazy.

Runners get it. 💪🏃‍♀️

This morning was pure summer running perfection. ☀️🏃‍♀️

I had the best run with my sister, and between the cool temps, beautiful scenery, and good company, it was one of those runs that fills your cup.

I finished with 2 fast miles, 6:14 and 6:16, and honestly, they felt so good. After dealing with this injury, those miles gave me a little hope that maybe I can run fast again someday.

This injury has been incredibly frustrating. It’s still sore, but it’s noticeably better than it was last week, and I’m hoping that’s a sign things are finally moving in the right direction.

For now, I’m celebrating the small wins, soaking up these summer miles, and staying grateful for every step.

How are the temperatures where you are? Are you loving summer running, or counting down the days until fall?

Happy Global Running Day! 🏃‍♀️✨

Today was great because I got to run with , and is in town! 💙

Running has truly changed my life. It has challenged me, strengthened me, and introduced me to some of the most incredible people I know. I’m so grateful for every mile, every lesson, and every friendship that has come from this sport.

I hope you had the chance to celebrate with an amazing run, whether it was one mile or twenty!

How did you celebrate Global Running Day?

Why am I like this?! 😩

Yesterday’s run felt amazing, but my tendon is definitely letting me know it was a little too much. It’s so hard when everything feels great in the moment and that little voice saying, “This is probably not a good idea,” gets drowned out by the excitement of being out there.

I knew better. I just didn’t listen.

Today I’m paying the price and feeling pretty bummed, mostly because I’m hoping I didn’t set myself back too much. Injuries are such a lesson in patience, and patience has never been my strongest skill.

For now, I’m trying to remember that one bad decision doesn’t erase all the progress I’ve made. Hopefully a little extra rest now means I’ll be back out there sooner rather than later. 🤞

Anyone self do things like this? 🤦🏼‍♀️

Such a beautiful morning and an even better run ☀️🏃‍♀️ I loved getting to run with , the miles absolutely flew by! We even got to share a few miles with .arl and , which made it even more fun.

My tendon is still sore, but I’m making slow progress, and I’m so grateful for every mile and every run along the way.

Now it’s time to enjoy our first Friday of summer break! ☀️ What are your weekend plans? Are your kids officially out of school
