Healthcare is changing quickly, and AI is becoming an increasingly important part of that conversation.

81% of physicians now report using AI in their professional work. But adoption is only one part of the story. Healthcare leaders are also navigating rising operating costs, changing technology, access to capital, and the challenge of building stronger, more sustainable practices.

These are the types of conversations we want to bring together at the upcoming : “Building Stronger Practices Through Capital, Innovation, and Financial Leadership.”

On October 1st, Integro Bank, the Maricopa County Medical Society (MCMS), and Xcellerant Ventures will bring together healthcare leaders to discuss where the industry is heading and, importantly, how we ensure physicians are positioned to help lead that future.

We’re looking forward to an incredible discussion.

The cost of operating a medical practice continues to climb.

According to the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), 84% of medical groups reported higher year-to-date operating costs in 2026 compared with the same period in 2025. Among organizations experiencing an increase, costs rose by an average of approximately 11%.

Labor remains a significant factor, with wages, benefits, and staffing challenges contributing to higher expenses. Medical supplies, drugs, insurance, rent, and other overhead are adding further pressure.

For healthcare organizations, these rising costs make managing cash flow, improving operational efficiency, and getting more from existing resources increasingly important.

We took a closer look at the MGMA findings and what the numbers show about the changing financial environment for medical groups.

The adoption of hashtag in hashtag continues to grow, although its implementation varies among organizations. According to the American Medical Association's 2024 Augmented Intelligence Research, 66% of physicians reported using some form of AI in their practices, up from 38% the previous year.

Interest in AI is on the rise; however, challenges in implementation persist. According to Deloitte's 2025 Global Health Care Outlook, cybersecurity, data governance, workforce readiness, and system integration are major concerns for healthcare organizations adopting advanced technologies.

Similarly, KPMG reports that healthcare executives are increasingly prioritizing governance and responsible AI implementation alongside operational efficiency. These findings indicate that adopting new technologies often requires addressing organizational, regulatory, and workforce issues, in addition to financial considerations.
