Not every dog that comes through our doors has an owner waiting for them at the end of the day.

Rescue work isn’t the face of our business, and you won’t see us posting about it every day. But it’s one of the biggest reasons we keep pushing forward. It’s why we continue to build relationships with rescues, invest our time, and open our doors to dogs who simply need a chance.

Behind the scenes, we’ve helped dogs work through fear, build confidence, learn life skills, and prepare for the homes they deserve. The victories are often quiet, and the work isn’t always glamorous, but it’s some of the most meaningful work we do.

Today, Toad gets an opportunity to shine.

After spending months with us, this sweet boy may have a potential adopter interested in giving him the forever home he’s been waiting for. There’s just one important question left to answer:

Can he live successfully with cats?

So today… we test.

One of the most rewarding parts of building a team is having the opportunity to help people grow not just as trainers, but as professionals. Sometimes that growth leads them to take the next big step and build something of their own.

We’re incredibly proud of Jada as she begins this new chapter and launches her own venture in the dog training world. It has been a privilege to mentor and work alongside her, to watch her develop her skills, and to see her passion for helping dogs and their families continue to grow.

Hi friends… my name is Dolly 🤍🐾

I’m the forever foster from Sky Sanctuary here at Connected Canine, and I have quite the story to tell.

I first came here last year to work with Jada, one of the trainers, because I can be a little reactive toward other dogs. But from the moment we met, Sara always joked that I had “heart eyes” for her. We bonded quickly, and I became known around here for my famous awoooos 🐶💕

I’ve been with Sky Sanctuary for about two years now, which makes me their longest resident. In all that time, I only had one meet and greet.

Then I developed demodectic mange, caused by Demodex mites. These microscopic mites normally live on a dog’s skin in small numbers, but when the immune system is weakened, they can multiply and cause severe hair loss, skin infections, and a lot of discomfort.

In my case, it spread across my whole body. I lost a lot of weight, became very weak, and there were times I couldn’t walk well and had to be carried. The doctors warned my people things would get worse before they got better 💔

But I’m a tough girl 💪🐾

After months of treatment and love, I slowly got stronger. I gained my weight back, found my voice again, and my awoooos are louder than ever 🎶🐶

Now I’m officially Connected Canine’s forever foster. I may not have a traditional forever home, but I found something just as special. A place where I’m loved, safe, and exactly where I belong 🤍🏡🐾
