The golden era of Philadelphia’s musical revolution returned to the center of the cultural conversation as WURD Radio hosted its fourth annual Message in the Music: Beats, Flows, and Neo Soul.

The evening featured a heavy-hitting panel discussion hosted by Tiffany Bacon, with culture architects Carol Riddick, John Barber, Carvin Haggins, Yameen All World, Stephanie Renee, and Laiya St. Clair, who dissected the global impact of the Philly sound. The community-driven celebration came alive through raw live hip-hop, R&B, and poetry performances, an open mic for the next generation of voices, and a packed dance floor driven by DJ Mike Nyce.

Preserving the history of the Black diaspora requires structural investment, and WURD Radio extends its deepest gratitude to the partners who supported this mission: the Pennsylvania Lottery, Comcast, PECO, the Philadelphia Parking Authority, Keystone First, and PGW.
