For Leonore F. Carpenter, LAW ’00, advocacy and education have gone hand in hand throughout her career.

Now a professor at Rutgers Law School, Leonore continues to empower the next generation of legal professionals through her teaching, scholarship, and commitment to public interest law. Prior to joining Rutgers, she spent 14 years on the faculty at Temple Law and served as Legal Director of Equality Advocates Pennsylvania, advancing legal services, education, and policy reform for LGBTQ+ Pennsylvanians.

Through her work in the classroom and beyond, Leonore has dedicated her career to expanding opportunity, supporting underserved communities, and helping future lawyers find their voice.

For more than 15 years, Tim McKinney, TFM ’08, MSW ’14, has worked to create spaces where young people can thrive.

As the School District of Philadelphia's first LGBTQIA+ Student Supports Manager, Tim works to help students feel seen, supported, and empowered throughout their educational journey. Previously, he served as LGBTQ+ Resource and Program Director at Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence, where he helped create mentoring and support opportunities for young people across the region.

Being Temple Made means creating opportunities for others to connect, grow, and feel empowered to be themselves.

For Fantasia May, CLA ’15, that commitment can be seen through their work as a Service Coordinator at the Philadelphia Corporation for Aging and the communities they've built through Good Vibes Philly and ArtLOVE Philly, spaces centered on creativity, connection, and belonging.

Most recently, Fantasia returned to Temple as the alumni speaker for the Lavender Ceremony, inspiring the next generation of LGBTQIA+ graduates as they begin their own journeys.
