Melodic punk band from Philadelphia with former members of The Curse, Kid Dynamite, & more
“Set fire to all that you hold dear, so you don’t have to face your fears,” sings vocalist Joshua Alvarez (Halo of Snakes) in reflection of moving past the things that hold us back. After playing in numerous bands around Philadelphia over the years, the members of Crossed Keys bring their varied experiences together to create a unique, driving melodic sound.

Alvarez is joined by drummer Dave Wagenschutz (Kid Dynamite, Good Riddance), bassist Andrew Wellbrock (Zolof the Rock & Roll Destroyer), and guitarists Beau Brendley (The Curse, Kill The Man Who Questions, R.A.M.B.O.) and Dave Adoff (Step Ahead, Jackie Thousand). “Saviors” was recorded over a weekend in May 2019 at Noisy Little Critter in Downington, PA by Mike Bardzik (Joyce Manor, Kill Your Idols, Spraynard) and mastered at West West Side Music by Alan Douches (The Misfits, Converge).

From the wistfulness of “Times of Grace” recalling shared times in basements and firehalls to the frustration of inaction voiced in the title track, “Saviors” is seven tales of gratefulness for all of those moments and people in our lives that led us to this point.

Crossed Keys has played venues all over the tri-state area, supporting bands such as H2O, Dave Hause & The Mermaid, The Lillingtons, Good Riddance, Shades Apart, and Strike Anywhere.

I bet Square of Opposition Records is running out of these so if you want a copy of the Joshua Alvarez record, now’s the time to grab one! He was even kind enough to mention us in the insert!

Somehow, we’ve made it 10 years! A decade ago on this very day we played our first show with our friends Second Letter and Son & Heir at the late Boot & Saddle in South Philly. Other than Renegade, this is the longest any of us have been in a band uninterrupted. Time just moves a little faster as you get older, because this show feels like it was yesterday. We don’t have much (anything?) going on the rest of the year so we hope that you will get to the Church early on September 19 to celebrate with us before we all get to enjoy Plow United Chris Gethard and The Ergs together!

If is involved, it’s going to be a good time.
Little Andy’s embodies the DIY spirit. What started as making burgers in his apartment while between jobs, turned into a wildly popular pop-up in Asbury Park, and now this food truck. made the life he wanted to live and we’re so stoked for him!
