Biggest thank you in the world goes to Coach Dennis Helkowski!! One of the greatest coaches ever! He took a roster of 12 skaters and 2 goalies all the way to the championship and the semis in the ! We may have not gotten the results we wanted but we got what we needed. A teacher of the game and life. A man with character and integrity. It was pretty cool to coach for the same club where I played my youth hockey. Thank you Coach!

Hey parents now it’s your turn to live the dream! I have teamed up with Wissahickon Skating Club to provide an adult clinic. Aimed for beginners and intermediate but no matter your experience everyone is welcome! Starting Sunday March 24th at 7pm and running for 6 weeks. Coaches include myself along with Claire Lonergan, a professional figure skating coach at WSC, who will be teaching skating and Joe Feeney who will work with the goalies.
This will be ran like a real practice where I’ll be covering power skating and skill development. You will take the skills you are taught and you’ll be using them in flow drills to develop your hockey sense along with playing small area games to develop team concepts. Now you get to experience all the fun I put your player through!! 😆

The other week my Royals Ice Hockey bantam team had the wonderful opportunity to do team building with my long time, good friend Lee Elias. Lee is a coach, professor, author, entrepreneur and owner of GRIT Athletes. It was great to watch my boys learn from Lee and grow even stronger! I especially loved every time Lee would purposely put pressure and try to distract the team when they were doing an exercise!! 😆

Second: Hard work should be gritty. Training should involve the good, the bad and the ugly. Critical thinking of the game like application to evolve your skills. At the Jr level, Patrick's focus is on using mohwaks and his skating to be deceptive to create clear, shooting lanes. 💯

Players will be cut.
