Assalamu alaikum. Yesterday we were out across six communities in Philadelphia and Delaware, and by the mercy of Allah just under a thousand people ate.

Farm raised zabiha halal chicken, rice, and vegetables. That is what went into every tray that left our hands. Our neighbors deserve food prepared with the same care anyone would expect at their own table, and their circumstances do not change that. The quality is part of the dignity, and the dignity is part of the meal.

We have been doing this third Saturday feeding for just over a year now. In that time, over 16,000 people have eaten. Alhamdulillah for every single one of those plates.

$5 feeds one person. That is the whole math of it. $25 puts food in front of a family, and $50 carries ten of our neighbors through a day.

To everyone who cooked, packed, drove, and served, may Allah accept it from you and place it in your scales. If you want to be part of the next one, come serve with us, or support the meals through groundedcsk.org/support. Every plate is something you are sending ahead for yourself.

We talk about where we have been, what we are facing, and what we have built together. Then the mic goes to you for questions. Every session is recorded and released as a podcast, and the conversations will live on in writing through our Substack. Our stories travel.

Today we are glad to publicly introduce Grounded Muslim Life, a project of Grounded CSK.

Grounded CSK was founded in 2022 and formally established in December 2023, built on three pillars of community, service, and knowledge. Our mission is to create a space for individuals to connect with their faith and build meaningful relationships with others in the community. Grounded Muslim Life carries that mission onto campus.

Grounded Muslim Life currently supports the Haverford College MSA Haverford College MSA , and we are available to surrounding universities seeking support. Alongside this, I am glad to share that I now serve as Muslim Advisor at Haverford College, supporting Muslim students on campus and helping connect campus life to the community around it.

Muslim students, families, and individuals on the Main Line have not had a Muslim institutional home nearby in a long time. Prayer, study, and the experience of being known by a community have meant traveling to find them. This effort exists to close that distance.

Our community center at 807 N 63rd Street in Philadelphia remains open as a free resource to anyone who needs it.
