Keep it simple! Block by Block

Our approach makes the difference. We must remind our neighbors to work within their capacity. This work becomes too heavy to lift when our hearts are bigger the hands we need on deck to get the job done.

Nevertheless, it always brings us great joy to see younger people doing what they can with what they have. We look forward to working hard to secure more resources to put behind those doing the work. In the meantime, nothing will get in our way from organizing our communities.

Today’s Message! ✍🏽

There is power in seeing and shaping the vision before it becomes our reality. All it ever took was for us to first believe that we could without waiting for permission.

We’ve been tricked into underestimating our strength, our ingenuity, and our historical contributions. For too long, we have been exploited by poverty pimps and politicians to use their status and power to prey on us.

We must separate ourselves from hope killers!

There are people that will never have the courage to believe that we can until we provide undeniable proof. Then there are those that will see the vision and help us build. Nevertheless, it’s our role to stay on mission by any means.

Harriet Tubman once said, “If you hear the dogs, keep going. If you see the torches in the woods, keep going. If there’s shouting after you, keep going. Don’t ever stop. Keep going. If you want a taste of freedom, keep going.”

It’s our turn to carry the legacy!

We the community are responsible for giving our people a voice when our individual voices are not strong enough to be heard by decision-makers. There are many complaints that easily go unnoticed when we are divided.

Our greatest threat is not realizing that we are stronger together in our city and in this country. As taxpayers, we must demand more by giving more to the cause.

We must learn how to walk and chew gum at the same time. Yes, it’s more than possible to enjoy life, still work on getting yourself to the next level, and build your community.
