One question kept coming up from my readers and guests attending Ball on the Square: How did the violinists get in and out of the pods floating in the middle of the fountain? It was definitely one of the evening’s most talked-about and mesmerizing moments.

Brazil has arrived! 🇧🇷⚽️

The Brazilian National Team checked into the Sofitel Philadelphia today, greeted by passionate, flag-waving fans eager to catch a glimpse of the soccer giants ahead of tomorrow night’s FIFA World Cup match.

Next up, thousands of supporters are expected to march down 18th Street toward the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and the iconic Rocky Steps, with Philadelphia Police temporarily closing roads along the route. Fans have one simple request to remember: cheer as loudly as you want, wave those Brazilian flags with pride… but please don’t put your shirt on the Rocky statue. Well, at least not your shirt. 🥊🇧🇷

Oprah in Philly

Forbes brought an impressive lineup of self-made leaders to Philadelphia for the Forbes 250 Self-Made Summit at the Museum of the American Rev . Oprah Winfrey, the No. 1 honoree on Forbes’ Self-Made 250 list, reflected on belonging, purpose, and the faith that gave her the confidence to walk into every room knowing she belonged.

Also in attendance were entrepreneur and philanthropist Kathy Ireland, beauty mogul Anastasia Soare, Lia Valencia Key, and other accomplished women shaping industries and inspiring the next generation. Guests were welcomed with a special tour of the Museum of the American Revolution led by Scott Stephenson, the museum’s President and CEO.

The event was hosted by Randall Lane, Forbes’ Chief Content Officer and Editorial Director, who guided conversations celebrating innovation, resilience, and the remarkable journeys of America’s most successful self-made women, making Philadelphia the backdrop for a day of inspiration and leadership.
