Partitioning main advantages:1. Improve scalability - if data is partitioned, then the database can be scaled horizontally, meaning that additional servers can be added. 2. Improve availability - because running a database on a single piece of hardware means your database has a single point of failure. If the database server goes down, your entire database — and by extension, your application - is offline. 3. Improve performance - One common way that partitioning improvesperformance is by reducing contention - in other words, by spreading the load of user requests across multiple servers so that no single piece of hardware is being asked to do too much at once.Follow for more.

Multiple folks left the project I was on and I was the one to lead it.
I've built lots of new infrastructure, a new backend service to launch the APls with a new Database and I've also built a new frontend infrastructure. Lots of stuff

You can skip learning the fundamentals at first if you're eager to dive into coding right away. But when you start owning systems end-to-end, strong fundamentals become essential to justify every decision you make.
It's not always exciting-sometimes, you'll spend hours learning just to change a single line of code. But that's the point: with that effort, you truly own the change and understand how everything fits together.
