What happens when we meet place —and place meets us back?

We are pleased to announce the summer premiere of SPACES OF ENCOUNTER: a research-driven exhibition exploring cultural literacy in the built environment, the ministry of presence, and the biological impacts of space and place on American life.

Conceived by public art researcher Danicia M. Malone and guest curated by Alyse Tucker of New York University, the exhibition brings together 21 artifacts and artworks across image, audio, and data from multiple cities in conversation. All trace how place holds us, marks us, and calls us into relation.

Produced by Rokh Research & Design Studio. Premiering at Temple Contemporary on May 4 through June 27.

The opening reception is on Saturday May 9 at 2pm! RSVP encouraged but free to all. Link in bio!

The legacy continues! 🔼▶️

Building on the recent success, PYRAMID CLUB: OUR CONTINUUM is a rapid “call and response” installation that introduces a new model to Temple, bringing together student and faculty work inspired by the fall exhibition by our guest artist.

Spanning six disciplines, the project showcases a wide range of creative and scholarly approaches, from architectural dioramas of Philadelphia’s overlooked places and handcrafted board games to archival research, augmented reality experiences, Z-fold artist books, and critical essays on identity and art, all produced across the Tyler School and Temple University in 2025.

Through this interdisciplinary exchange, the gallery is reimagined as a series of spaces for reflection and engagement, inviting visitors to explore the Pyramid Club’s legacy through multiple modes of making, research, and play. Come see for yourself!
