Here’s the Place is out now on all streaming platforms!

This song, the first single from the EP, started out the way many of my tunes do - on a vocal looper pedal. Vocal looping has been such an important songwriting tool for me. Sitting with a melody or a mantra until it transforms into a fully fleshed out song is such a cathartic experience.

I wrote this song in 2020 after feeling frustrated with the slow progress/healing I was experiencing in therapy. I figured that since I had been putting in so much work, that I should’ve been ok. I know that healing and growth isn’t linear! But it’s definitely hard to recognize that in the moment.

I wanna shout out the homie for helping me realize this dream of recording and producing this song. They’ve been instrumental - literally - in making this whole project come together and I’m forever grateful for their presence in my life. Also - it was an absolute pleasure having on keys for this track! I’ve always been in awe of his skills and dedication as a musician - and how he’s been such a huge part of the development of this song from the beginning.

My first release under my chosen name is almost here ✨ It’s odd to be posting about my work at the end of the world, but here goes:

Catch the EP release show on Oct 22 with and supporting 💕 I’ll be playing with a full band and my friend and collaborator is producing a run of some limited edition cassettes - each with a digital download code for the full EP 📼

HERE’S THE PLACE drops on Oct 24. I wrote this track during the early days of the pandemic, and those of you who’ve been listening for a while have probably heard it before - but this is the first time it’s finding its full form in the world.

And the full EP - I SHOULD BE OK NOW - arrives to streaming on Nov 7.

I have so much more to share about the process and the music, but for now I’ll just say that I can’t wait for you to hear this 🫶🏾
