The Icebox Project Space is an innovative and experimental contemporary exhibition space where visual artists, musicians, film makers, and performers are able to work, think, and collaborate within a uniquely large scale and open structure. The Icebox boldly explores the notion and limitations of what defines an exhibition, and seeks to challenge and explore, while fostering the creative process. The Icebox engages a broad National and International audience, and visitors should expect a level of engagement with programming, with the space itself, and with the community it continues to build. Please join us in creating this expanding dialogue.

We will be opening a video lending library this October called VCR VCR Philly ! You’ll be able to check out DVDs and VHS tapes and players. This is not any usual video library, it’s a lending library for artists, filmmakers, performers, dancers, and creatives. We already have 500+ titles of experimental film, video art, documentaries, glitch, performances, opera, dance, etc. Want to share that obscure video that everyone needs to see? DM us. Want to share your work on a VHS tape or DVD? We have everything you need to transfer and print!!! Email us at vcrphilly(at)gmail subject “VCR submission”.

Our third edition of Now, One With Everyone! is a celebration of our local creative community. For some artists, this marks their very first exhibition; for others, it offers a glimpse into an extraordinary creative journey years in the making.

If you would like to support Icebox, you can still buy a ticket until 11:30pm tonight. All funds will go towards our operational costs.

You should come to our fundraiser on February 22 at 7:30 PM. The talent show is going to be kind of like an elementary school talent show, featuring artists that we’ve worked with over the years.
Tickets start at $5 and go to $100: any purchase is great but if you can pitch in a little bit more, that would be very helpful! We haven’t had a fundraiser in a really long time. If you don’t show up, we’re done (just kidding…you don’t have to show up in order to buy a ticket and we appreciate your donation).
Our space is set up with a big stage, lighting, haze, lasers…an 8 foot disco ball…and all the lighting magic that Tim can conjure. We’re gonna have drinks, a special cocktail, and a fun vibe.

We decided Philly’s largest disco ball needs a rebuild and we would love some help gluing on the square mirrors tomorrow 5-9!!! If you have an hour or just want to see how the cheese is made… stop by!!! We’ll have plenty of snacks, drinks, and hot glue :)
