Dear Humans,
This is Teddy.
I would like to file an official complaint.
Today, I got the chance to attend an adoption event along with my foster friends Tessa, Ozzie and Cooper. We spent the entire day showing off our cuteness, being adorable, entertaining visitors, and generally doing everything that should result in adoption applications.
I performed silly antics.
I purred.
I was charming.
I was handsome.
I was perfect.
And yet… not a single application.
Not one.
Frankly, I am baffled.
The good news is that we are all still available and looking for our forever home. We are about 3 months old, fully vetted (spayed/neutered, vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed, combo tested negative, and microchipped), and ready to go. We are sweet, playful, and guaranteed to bring endless entertainment to your home.
We are currently waiting for space to open up at the cafe, where we will be making our debut as soon as possible. Until then, we will continue practicing our cutest poses and refining our kitten antics.
Please help us prove that all of today’s hard work was not in vain and submit an application today.

This post was originally supposed to be a simple introduction to Roxy, one of the cats we recently welcomed from the heartbreaking Roxborough situation but we realized her story deserves a little more context!!
After the resident of a house in Roxborough passed away, more than 25 friendly pet cats were left behind. The landlord tried to get help, including reaching out to the PSPCA several times, but when no assistance came, the cats were ultimately put outside to fend for themselves. These were not street cats. They were beloved pets who suddenly found themselves abandoned and struggling to survive 😢😢😢.
Fortunately, one of the incredible trappers Zuzu Bee from The Cat Collaborative stepped in and took on the enormous task of helping them. She trapped every cat, got them vetted, and has been working tirelessly to find rescue placement for them. We have only been able to take three so far because space is so limited, but every one of them has been absolutely wonderful.
Roxy is one of those lucky cats.
She joined the Cat Café this week and has fit in immediately. She is unbelievably friendly with both people and other cats and has already started making best friends 😻😻😻.

Roxy is truly one of the sweetest cats you could ever hope to meet ❤️❤️❤️. She absolutely adores other cats, so she must be adopted with a feline friend or go to a home that already has friendly resident cats. Roxy is estimated to be about 6 to 7 months old, and we can confidently say that if you meet her, you are going to fall in love.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
We are once again looking for dedicated volunteers to join our team. Before applying, we ask that you please carefully consider whether you are able to make a consistent commitment. Processing applications and training new volunteers takes a significant amount of time, so it can be discouraging when applicants submit forms and then never respond to follow-up communication.

We are looking for volunteers who can commit to at least one 3-4 hour shift each week. In some cases, if we have sufficient coverage, we may be able to move volunteers to every other week, but the shift would still need to be on the same day and time to help us maintain a reliable schedule.

It is also important to understand that volunteering at the café is very different from visiting as a guest. While there is certainly time to enjoy the cats, much of the work happens behind the scenes. Volunteers help with litter box maintenance, cleaning, laundry, restocking supplies, and all of the tasks necessary to keep the café looking great and smelling fresh for our visitors and, most importantly, for the cats.

Of course, there are some great perks too! Volunteers get plenty of kitty love, become part of an amazing team of cat lovers, and are welcome to visit the café anytime with a guest free of charge.

Our greatest current needs (in order of priority) are:
- Sunday: 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM (some flexibility in the exact time frame)
- Sunday: 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM
(Some flexibility in the exact time frame)
- Thursday: Any 3-4 hour shift throughout the day.
- Wednesday: Any 4-hour shift throughout the day
- Monday: 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM
(Some flexibility in the exact time frame).

💛 Meet Tw***ie 💛
This tiny little girl hasn’t had an easy start in life. Tw***ie was born into a home where the cats were not sterilized, resulting in litter after litter of kittens. When the family agreed to surrender Tw***ie and her siblings, we were relieved to be able to help—but we were completely heartbroken by the condition Tw***ie was in 😢😢. While her siblings looked relatively healthy, Tw***ie was only about a third of their size. Even more devastating, one of her eyes had ruptured and was literally protruding from her head. It was painful to look at, and we can only imagine the discomfort and suffering this tiny baby had been enduring.

To make matters even more challenging, Tw***ie also has a cataract in her remaining eye, leaving her with very limited vision.
At first, we weren’t sure what the future would hold for her. She was so tiny, so fragile, and had so much stacked against her. But, Tw***ie has shown us that she is a fighter!!
She has finally begun to grow and thrive, and she is now almost big enough to undergo the surgery she needs to completely remove her damaged eye. Thankfully, we were already able to have it cleaned up under light sedation to relieve her discomfort while she continues to gain weight and strength. And, in true cat fashion, Tw***ie doesn’t spend a single second feeling sorry for herself. She has absolutely no idea that she’s different. She is sweet, happy, playful, and full of life. She loves other cats and gets along with just about everyone she meets. While she’s not a huge fan of being picked up, she absolutely loves pets and will happily start purring the moment you show her some attention. She is playful, curious, and such a joy to be around.

There was a time when we weren’t even sure she would make it, and seeing her now—stronger, happier, and finally getting the chance she deserves—feels nothing short of amazing ❤️😻❤️😻❤️!!

Tw***ie made her debut at the PURR Cat Café this week and is absolutely dying to meet new people! We would love for you to stop by, say hello, and see for yourself what a special little girl she is. And who knows? Maybe you’ll even fall in love and decide to submit an application for Tw***ie and one of her feline friends.
