Before you start scrolling through tomorrow's to-do list, ask yourself one question: What's leading me into this week?

Fear has a way of making us expect the worst before anything has even happened. It writes stories that aren't true and convinces us to carry burdens that don't belong to us. Start this week by bringing your heart to Jesus. Let His Word shape the way you think before fear gets the first word! Amen? 💙

One Sunday away from church can quietly become a year without it.

8:03 a.m.
Everyone is exhausted.

8:07 a.m.
The kids are still asleep.

8:10 a.m.
You start doing the math... Getting everyone dressed, finding the shoes, packing the diaper bag, getting out the door on time, and sitting through service with a toddler who may or may not cooperate. So you make the most reasonable decision available: "We’ll just stay home today."

And honestly, that makes complete sense today, because Sundays come every week.

Next Sunday, someone has a runny nose... Then you were up too late Saturday night... Then you’re out of town... Then there’s a soccer game... Then everyone just needs a "slow morning."

Slowly, staying home becomes easier. You stop feeling like you missed something. The people you used to see every Sunday stop expecting you. You stop making plans around church, and start fitting church around your plans. Eventually, Sunday morning feels like any other morning.

Which makes it even easier to stay home the next time.

Nobody sat down and decided, "Church isn’t important to our family anymore." Nobody decided to walk away from community. Nobody decided their kids wouldn’t grow up knowing the people who once prayed for them, taught them, encouraged them, and knew them by name.

They were tired, busy, and solving the problem directly in front of them. Missing one Sunday doesn’t change a family, but hundreds of small decisions can! The decision to stop going to church usually isn’t made all at once. Sometimes, it’s made one Sunday at a time.
