Being SELF(ISH) is a mentality. It’s actively choosing to put yourself first, despite being told that you should constantly be putting others first. It’s reclaiming your time, reclaiming your essence, reclaiming yourself- because you are the most important investment you’ll ever make

On October 1st, The Wellness Collective gathered almost 200 women into center city Philadelphia for a self care conference that they won’t soon forget. We had performances, free wellness services, incredible speakers, and a day full of self care surprises.

READY FOR SOME REAL TALK?

Let’s talk about setting a boundary and learning to say n o ...

Saying no is about creating and maintaining boundaries. When healthy boundaries are in place, we have the freedom to direct our energy towards the things we deem worthy of our time and energy, leading us to feel WAY more fulfilled

If you struggle with creating boundaries, here are some things to try and implement:

When to say no
When someone asks you to do something, ask yourself if taking this task on will have a negative impact on your life. Negative impacts can be major, or even as slight as you don’t feel like it (your feelings are valid!). If the answer to this is yes, than your answer should be NO!

Practice makes perfect
Rehearse saying no. Start in the mirror where the pressure is off, and then move on to situations you know are easier to decline. Finally, work your way up to the confidence level you need for the big time

Take pause
If you tend to say yes without thinking, try implementing a two-hour pause period to think it through. Tell the person asking that you will get back to them in a few hours, and really take that time to evaluate whether or not the decision will impact you negatively (refer to part 1- when to say no)

Something we’ve learned over the past few years is that feeling the fear and doing it anyway is an integral part of soul growth and expansion.

If you’re afraid, ask yourself exactly what it is that you’re afraid of. Success? Change? How the growth will impact your relationships? They’re important things to consider, but they shouldn’t be things that stop you.

Now get out there and do it anyway ❤️
