The University of Pennsylvania has a long history of displacement and gentrification in Philadelphia, often disregarding pre-existing communities. Penn is responsible for the displacement of the Lenni-Lenape Indians in the late 18th century and the black residents who lived in the Black Bottom neighborhood in the middle of the 20th century. Today, buildings like New College House and the Pennovation Center continue to gentrify its surrounding area. This demonstration is meant to bring awareness to the centuries of exploitation on the land where Penn stands. If you would like to learn more about anti-gentrification efforts in Philly, visit the Philadelphia Tenants Union at www.phillytenantsunion.org

UNITED WE STAND!

Join Drexel's Black Action Committee tonight for their protest at the Eagles Game, in solidarity with Colin Kaepernick and against the current presidential administration, which suggests that NFL Athletes should be fired for exercising their first amendment rights by protesting during games.

There is already an agreement in place with the city of Philadelphia and they will be providing civil affairs officers to help facilitate the event. This will take place TONIGHT at 7:45 PM. Meet at Landmark at 7:00 for token distribution (first come, first serve). March starting location is 1100 Pattison Ave.
